At least the heading got your attention right, because who doesn’t love pizza?! You can literally have it however you like!
As the title states, I am a 29-year old female born and raised in Mississippi. While MS is definitely one of those states that gets a lot of flack, I was raised on the Gulf Coast where all the casinos are, so I feel like we weren’t too “bible-belt” down there on the coast.
I love to lift, and by that, I mean lift this fork into my mouth. I also do love to cook, but I guess it goes hand-in-hand if you love to eat. I’m going to wrap this up, but here’s the gist: 5’4”, speaks Vietnamese fluently, tattooed, holds a masters in healthcare management.

I'm not sure if this is the sub to post this but I hope I can find an answer. This is related to the covid pandemic. I've been furloughed from my job since March and I've been relying on unemployment (smalllllll payments weekly) and the FPUC supplements ($600) weekly. Those FPUC payments run out on July 31 I believe. So now I'm in a predicament. I've been throwing my resume around since March and have had no luck. I'm being evicted this month because the landlord is selling the house. I've tried doing the odd job here and there just to pad the bank account a bit more but it's really difficult. Is there anything I can do to appeal to my state (MS) or something to keep receiving compensation? I work in the entertainment industry (casino) and my department is closed without a definite date to reopen. I'm currently still employed but with the only benefits of staying on the insurance and receiving the crappy unemployment checks. I feel like I fall under some kind of disaster category so I would be able to receive some kind of credit so I can at least stay afloat until this gets better kind of like the BP spill on the Gulf Coast, talk about huge handouts. Thanks in advance anyone who can provide some advice.
Edit: Keep in mind the Gaming Commission decided how and when these casinos operate for the most part. How can they get away with screwing me like this?

When I was a child, I fondly remember my parents taking me to sightsee all the awesome casinos that used to decorate the MS coast. One of favorites, of course, was the Lady Luck Casino, mainly because of the Dragon of Good Fortune.
It was a giant cave in the gulf that housed an animatronic dragon. It would come out I believe once an hour and would roar and shoot fire. Here is one of the only pictures I could find of the dragon.
I only got to see it work maybe once or twice before it went into disrepair, but I still liked to view the cave from time to time.
I've only ever been able to find some grainy photos of the dragon, and I was hoping someone on this subreddit has a home video or something that has actual footage of the working dragon!

Purpose: Let’s discuss some hands where you felt dirty after you took the pot.
Full disclosure, I’m the most rec of rec players... I only play once a month (if that) in casinos on the MS Gulf Coast and about once every other month when I’m in Maryland for work, so I don’t have a ton of reference for this.
Another player and I agreed that if either of us took a pot with 7/2o then we’d payout an extra $5. It was just this guy and me in the deal, but others were well aware and joke/chatted about it for quite a while.
I’m sitting next to this guy I had met at the same table about 4 hours prior. Good player, tight ranges, didn’t really see him lose medium to large pots unless it was a complete suckout on crazy fish play. All in all, a nice guy that I was able to joke around with and have a good time chatting with.
There’s another guy at the other end of the table who’s been playing nearly every hand, complaining a lot, and acting like 4/2s is an acceptable hand to call a $17 preflop bet with “If you have a good feeling.” He’s not necessarily my nemesis at the table, but I’m looking for a spot to show him up... childish, yes. I’m aware it’s childish.
Finally, I’m dealt 7/2o in CO. Friendly guy is on the button, and nemesis is UTG. Nemesis limps, folds to me, I pop to $17. Friend calls, nemesis looks like I pissed in his Cheerios, then calls.
Board is 10/5/8 two spades. Nemesis checks, I make it $35, friend calls, nemesis calls. At this point, I’m in a state of shut it down. Fun while it lasted...
Turn is Ac and nemesis looks mad as hell and just mucks... then said something to the effect of, “You guys always catch your Ace.” We’re all confused as to why he mucked.
I look over at my new friend and he’s just staring at the board. He looks over at me and immediately goes back to the board. I don’t have a real read, per se, but my initial thought is the Ace spooked him.
He didn’t come over the top pre, which he has done before with AA, he didn’t re-raise the flop so I’m not thinking he hit a set (fairly coordinated board so wouldn’t want anyone drawing), and I honestly don’t think he’s calling $35 with overs and/or a draw... I haven’t seen him do anything like that all night. (At least when he’s shown cards)
The options seem pretty clear. Rep an Ace for $60, or lay down and joke about my failed 7/2o bluff.
I decide that taking down $160 is worth the risk of bluffing off another $60. The Jameson and Gingers helped lubricate that decision.
Friend flips over KK, announces fold, and gives me the “damnit” look. I flip the 7/2o and the table immediately goes into the expected up roar. I see a red chip fling my way and I immediately feel a bit dirty.
I don’t ever feel bad about taking a pot down, but this one feels different. The guy took it about as well as one could... nervous laughed for a minute and was very quiet for 5-10 minutes. He had been running really well for the first few hours, but had two nasty suckouts that had cut his stack in half.
I know we’re all there to stack anyone and everyone, but do you have any stories where you put a beat on someone and felt dirty afterwards?

This is a test run of something I’m considering doing over the summer – regional profiles for our 2019 recruiting. Most of these will be over the summer as we go through camps, but I figured Mississippi would be a good place to test out this type of post. Please use this post as a place to let me know if you are interested in this kind of thing over the summer. Also, feel free to use this as a space to make suggestions in regards to the subreddits’ recruiting coverage. Mods are currently doing some year end evaluations with the major growth in the sub, and we always want to keep this as user-oriented as possible. There will be an announcement in the near future regarding other Gator topics for the subreddit, so please keep the comments on here related to recruiting.
On to Mississippi recruiting for 2019.
Some small background on Mississippi recruiting, without getting into the dirty aspects of funneling money through the casinos and all that fun stuff: Players rarely go under the radar or unnoticed in the state, so most of the big names are already out there in some form or other. The locals are insane about football coverage, and the top talent tends to stand out pretty nicely. Finally, the coaching staff sent out a huge chunk of offers last night. This was the coaching staffs’ first group of offers sent out after having some time to settle in and evaluate targets. Every one of those offers is likely going to be one of the top guys on the UF board for the 2019 class.
Mississippi recruiting in 2018 is well below average. There are only 4 four-star players, and one guy who is high three-star. In fact, there is only one player (Malik Heath) who has a player rating of .9000 or higher. To contrast, the 2016 Mississippi class had 9 four-stars and 2 five-stars. There were 10 players ranked .9000 or higher.
2019 is the exact opposite and insanely talented. It’s easily the top state of Mississippi class since 2016 and actually looks a little deeper on paper. There are currently 12 four-star players, all ranked .9000 or higher. The top three have the talent to get a fifth star when all is said and done. The reason I’m making a post about this is that I expect some major Mississippi recruiting out of our coaching staff this next cycle. Both of the Mississippi teams are in the middle of a coaching transition, with Moorhead coming in from Penn State and Matt Luke spending his first year as an actual head coach. Dan Mullen and staff likely have some of the best relationships with these players in the country. Our biggest opponents outside of the in-state schools for the top level players are going to be Alabama and LSU, who have raided the top talent in the state in the past.
Here is a list of the guys who I think could have mutual interest with Florida. Many of them hold both a Mississippi State offer (meaning they likely have relationships with Mullen, Billy G, Hevesy, Grantham, and/or some of the other staff coming from Mississippi State) and an offer from Florida (meaning that even if it was Mac who offered them, they have shown enough interest to post the offer.)
Nakobe Dean – OLB – This guy is a 5 star talent and should have already been offered by us. It’s insane that he wasn’t. Particularly with our needs at LB. Mullen just offered him the day after the early signing period, so clearly Mullen gets it. We will have to battle almost every team in the southeast to get him, but we need one or two guys like this at OLB somewhere in the 2019 cycle to make our 3-4 work.
Nathan Pickering – DE – Another major battle with every southeast team, and another position that we are going to be heavily pushing for a ‘primo’ player in 2019. Our front 7 talent is as low as I’ve ever seen, and the 2018 class is behind in that area as well.
Charles Moore and Jerrion Ealy are both guys anybody would love to add, but are likely to stay with the in-state schools. Ealy is also expected to be a top 10 draft pick for the MLB.
Donte Starks - ILB – He is a top-100 player from the gulf coast. He received a UF offer the day after the 2018 early signing period ended, which is a clue that we are going to be making a huge run at him.
Byron Young – DE – A top 200 player with size (6’5, 250) that was one of Mullen’s first offers at UF. Another front 7 guy that we would love to add.
De’Monte Russell – DE – Haven’t seen a UF offer yet, so I’m not sure if he’s a target or not. This guy is a major player that was being recruited by Tim Brewster at FSU. His lead recruiter at Mississippi State is Greg Knox, so maybe that would help us if Knox officially comes over to UF.
Zach Edwards – ILB – We are still in the 4-star players and here’s another major front seven guy. He’s from Starkville and will be a tough pull from MS State, but his lead recruiter there was Grantham.
Brandon Cunningham – OT – Finally in the three stars (and I skipped a few 4 star guys), but he is currently committed to Miami. Clearly there is some interest in playing in Florida. It will be interesting if we make a run at him, because I don’t see a Florida offer yet.
Jarrian Jones – S – This guy is a superstar that lives within a few miles of me. Just picked up a UF offer along with Starks right after that early signing period ended.
