If I have Wizard Of Oz Cards/Chips from one D&B location can I turn them in at another that doesn't have the Wizard Of Oz Coin Dozer?

So I have some Wizard Of Oz cards and the cups from. The machine that I played in another state. I have since moved and my local D&B only has the Star Trek coin pusher.
I would figure I could use the cards at that location since they just scan them in and the system reads them but like for the Wizard Of Oz version the green and red chips you get at D & B are not D & B branded where as the Star Trek ones are and I worry the employees would give me problems saying they are not branded with D & B and since they don't have the Wizard Of Oz one they might not know they don't come branded with D & B on them or are they treimd to know all of this?
Can I still turn everything in at this location as this is the only location in my state.

PVE Region Idea #1

Zomopolis-ZEO

Team: The Player is on the Plant's side for this area.

Story: The player lands in a Greenhouse, which since the plants have taken over has shown great resistance against the zombie forces. In Zomopolis-ZEO, many of the zombies are turned into Super Brainz, so Major Sweetie (Who is also in the Greenhouse) needs your help to stop their production.
Like all the other maps, there will be three major sections; Z-Park (Essentially where the Greenhouse you start in), Zomopolis-ZEO (A Major city swarming with spotlights, Alleyways, and a sewer. Getting caught in the spotlights will alert Zombies to your location), and the Super Factory (a Lot of Super Brainz are found in that area). The types of zombies that spawn are the regular AI, as well as regular Soldiers, Engineers, Imps, Super Brainz, 80's Action Heros, and Mech's (The last one spawn only inside the Super Factory.) In Addition to the zombies, there are special types of Zombies called 'Beta Brainz'. They are essentially weaker versions of Super Brainz, having not as much health as Super Brainz and only doing a single punch and firing one laser if you're far away (Think of the Turret Bot). Their appearance has them look like Super Brainz, but they wear Browncoat Suits. They only appear in the region after you complete the Introduction Mission.
Introduction Mission: Major Sweetie greets the player, and then lays down the news; Their scouts have seen a large amount of Super Brainz head towards Zomboss's HQ down back at Neighborville. Unfortunately, they lost contact with their scouts after a few minutes, and she wants you to go find them. You make your way to the Super Factory and find the plants, and have to take them back to the greenhouse. While you return to the greenhouse with the plants, a cutscene plays when you're in Zomopolis-ZEO. A spotlight falls onto you and the other plants, as a horde of Zombies appear, followed by an Elite Beta Brainz, which you have to defeat. After defeating the horde, you finally make it back. Major Sweetie congratulates you on your success, then plans on what to do with the knowledge they have. Major Sweetie says that they need to take out the 'Superfier-Zombot-5000', but can't cause of the heavy door that is in the way. That is until she suggests an idea: They cut the door open with a laser. She needs you to get the following items: a Disco Ball (To act as the energy for the laser), A Handsome Mirror (To direct the laser), and a Z-Mech’s Computer (to help control it) Once you collect the items, you get the 'Rainbow Laser Blaster' (Approved by Major Sweetie).
The mission for Handsome Mirror: Super Sweet Revenge (Talk to a Super Bean that is found in the city. As it turns out, this was the same Super Bean from the Super Brainz mission 'The Bean Situation'. He wants your help facing the League of Awesome in a rematch. After making 10 pieces of Grafeitti around the city and the Super Factory (Including pictures of Crazy Dave, a Taco, etc Cetra), the League of Awesome appears. It's you and the Super Bean vs Insecto Brainz, Breakfast Brainz, Jurassic Volcano, and Super Brainz, all elite. defeating all four of them has them retreat, with Super Brainz dropping his Mirror. Super Bean was planning on taking it as a trophy of victory but then gives it to you after he realizes that you want it so you can use it to make the 'Rainbow Laser Blaster'.)
The mission for Disco Ball: The Newest Groove (Talk to a citron called ‘OJ Groovy’ near the greenhouse. He tells you that he overheard the Plans to take out the 'Superfier-Zombot-5000' and he agrees to help you out, as he knows where to find a Disco Ball, from DJ Disco, a Zombie that has a sour reputation of taking the spotlight. You and him head into the city and find Disco’s Club. From their, you must sneak into the Club without setting off lasers (these lasers take you back to the start). Their will be checkpoints. Once you make it to the dance floor, you fight DJ Disco, who is a Elite Disco Zombie. Defeat him and OJ Groovy will congratulate you for helping him take out DJ Disco, and your given the Disco Ball, as promised.)
Mission for Z-Mech’s Computer: The Triple S. (In order to get this piece, you got to find a Commando Pea (would’ve been a Agent Pea if Agent Pea was added) named Pete Popper. He is looking for recruits to be a part of his Triple S program (The Triple S program is Stealth, Style, and Steal). After you join, you have to complete a obby filled with spinning pushers, jumps, and Large boxing gloves. Since your plants, this is a obby where you cannot die, you just fall the ground have to re do it, and there are no checkpoints. After completing it, he sends you onto your first mission: Steal a Mech’s Computer from the Super Factory. You have to be stealthy, as there are multiple Spotlights and guards, and getting caught by one spawns a horde of zombies. You make your way to a empty Z-Mech, and take the computer from it. The mission is done, and Pete will allow you to keep the Z-Mech’s Computer, as a trophy as your success.)
Final Boss: The Superfier-Zombot-5000 ’Zomboss’s Second-Greatest invention, packed with YOUR DEMISE.’
Final Mission: Head to the Super Factory, and cut a hole using the Rainbow Laser Blaster on a large iron door. The Boss door is on the other side of Iron door, so you head on in and into the boss area. You enter a place called ‘Heart of the Factory’ and get on a circular elevator. This elevator takes you to a large area, and a alarm goes off, causing the Superfier-Zombot-5000 to emerge. It’s too Big to stand on the area, so you only see down to it’s shoulders. Brown coats, Beta Brainz, and Super Brainz spawn in to try and swarm you. It has the same Hp as the Dreadwood, 3 phases, and its weak spot is just below its neck (the neck can’t be seen due to the robot’s massive head) It starts with two attacks, and gains more attacks as it gets weakened.
1st Phase:
• Fires a energy shot at the player. Deals moderate damage, similar to the other Boss’s basic attack
•Fires a Laser. It has some start up time, about 10 seconds, but deals major damage. Tracks the player for 8 seconds before firing
2nd Phase:
•Slams a fist onto the player. Releases a Shockwave.
•Tries to bombard the player by firing 8 missiles. Rector appears on the ground and tracks the player. Missiles take 3 seconds to charge, and fires a missile every 2 seconds.
3rd Phase:
•Slams both fists onto the ground, releasing two shockwaves
•Shoots a laser from the mouth, going left to right and back. Jump over it to dodge it.
In-between phases: Every time it gets to a third of its health, it activates a force field to protect itself, and spawns a Elite Beta Brainz to fight you. The number of Elite Beta Brainz increases by 1 every time. Once defeating the Beta Brainz, the force field will still be up, and it tries to use its laser attack on you. You have get it to hit a large ‘Don’t touch Button’ with the laser. Doing so will deactivate the Forcefield. Vanquishing it causes it to explode into chunks, after vomiting up a bunch of coins and money.

The Stranger Part 1

My name is Joseph Hawkins, and until May 7th, 2018, life was normal. I am, or was, a respected Homicide Detective with the Houston Police Department. Yes, I am from Texas. I was once a respected detective, having solved many cases and putting many scum bags away. However, one mistake landed me in the Missing Persons Department.
On April 3rd, 2018 I was working with my partner Cary Griffin on the Martinez Murders case. Jesus Martinez was a prominent Latin King in the Houston Area, known for pushing coke and meth, small league bullshit. However, in March he jumped his game up and took out a rival sect of the Tango Blast gang. Fucker set a bomb off in an abandoned building on Capitol St. Took out 6 members of the rival gang. Most of us agreed, it was likely a drug trade gone bad. Here in Houston it's common for the street trash to mingle and make profit, especially if you are the same race. Sad, but true. Rumor had it that he had been held up for weeks after the blast and strung out on his own drugs.
Cary pulled up outside the department in our company issued undercover unit. Lord, that car looked like hell, paint missing, it had certainly seen better days. I hopped into the passenger seat and we took off following leads regarding the case. Cary was a fat depressive man. Very unwanted by members of HPD and for very good reason. See, Cary was a racist, a bad one too, you could even peg him as a Neo-Nazi sympathizer. Mien Comf sits in the top drawer of his desk, and he wears an undercover Nazi coin crafted into a ring on his ring finger. He had faced several complaints from other members of the department I filed 3 myself though he never knew. The "Top Brass" however; didn't feel it necessary to suspend or remove him from the Force, and working with him was a nightmare.
I was reflecting on aspects of the case when Cary hit me in shoulder.
"Hey Joe, isn't that Mario over there on the corner?" He asked.
"Yeah let's grab the peace of shit and take him in for questioning, he may have the dirt on Martinez." I huffed.
Mario Rodriguez was a pusher and ran drugs on the South Side, but definitely knew players in the Latin Kings and Tango Blast. This gave him no real importance, but put in him a position to know certain people on both sides, and was a good lead on Martinez or one of his affiliates.
As soon as we pulled off to the side of the street, Mario spotted us and bolted. He ran like a bat out of hell.
"TAKE ST. JOSEPH AND HEAD WEST WE WILL CUT HIM OFF ON AUSTIN!" I shouted, as I chased Mario on foot.
Cary Griffin radioed the call in as he took off in the car. An old woman happened to be leaving one of the stores when Mario shoved her to the pavement.
"OUT OF THE WAY YOU OLD BITCH!" He shouted.
I continued the chase until we reached the corner of Austin St. and St. Joseph, where Cary hobbled out of the cruiser to confront Mario.
"Listen here you piece of shit, one move and I drop you." Cary stated, pistol pointing at Mario.
Mario was visibly shaking, as he spoke he stuttered. " Listen vatos, I ain't going in, I'm scared of HIM more than the law, and I'm not taking chances." He said this while slowly pulling a knife from his pocket.
"PUT IT DOWN NOW!" I commanded.
Local beat cops had already sectioned off the road and he was surrounded, with no way out. With a sudden shake, Mario was on the floor, one of the beat cops had positioned himself close enough to hit Mario with his taser. Within a few minutes we gave him his Rights and had placed him in the rear of cruiser, I had Cary handle this, and he was going to do the report too. This is the least that that he could do.
While returning to lock up I tuned Cary out. A gift I had learned from years as his partner. Often when picking up a suspect like Mario, he would ramble his racist garbage, and I tune him out.
Suddenly, I felt an iron grip on my left hand, I looked over to see blood dribbling down Griffin's neck.
Mario was screaming at Cary, " Die you racist fuck, you aren't taking me in, I'm not going back."
I grabbed Mario's hand and tried to hold on. His hands were so slick with blood that I kept losing my grip and the ice pick being used was going further into Cary's throat. While struggling with Mario I hadn't noticed the car was out of control. There was a slam that knocked Mario to the passenger side of the unit, and I looked forward to see we were heading toward construction zone where a cement truck was just backing into the road. I reached for the wheel but it was too late, as I screamed at Cary to stay with me we struck the front of the truck and flipped.
When I came too I pulled my pistol and looked in the rear of the vehicle to see that a back window had been damaged and Mario was nowhere to be seen, I checked Cary's pulse and knew that he was gone. Blood was everywhere, the ice pick had likely sliced the artery.
There were day's of questioning by Internal Affairs. Every cop's worst nightmare, they live and eat the ruination of any cop. We were found at fault for failing to search the suspect and find the ice pick and this of course, resulting in Cary Griffin's death. Adding insult to injury, Mario Rodriguez had evaded capture for days, he had shot another cop while being apprehended for Cary's murder. This also, was attributed to my failure. I.A.D knew that Cary was the officer conducting the apprehension and the search, but as I was living and Cary was not, it was on me. I was suspended pending the investigation and then assigned a new position with the Missing Persons Division on May 7th, 2018. That was the morning the city turned to shit.
I woke up to a 2am call from Captain Trinh, " Sir, what's going on?" I asked, barley awake.
"You are needed now Lt. Hawkins, come to HQ and report immediately to Missing Persons." He said with a tone that just oozed that you don't have any choice in the matter.
"Sir, with all due respect, I'm still under review and I am suspended." I stated, now becoming focused on my surroundings.
I began to slowly notice the lights were off across my apartment, and noises could be heard outside my window. People running and screaming, and I had barely registered his final statement before the phone call was ended.
"GET HERE NOW, THAT'S AN ORDER FROM CHIEF. CHILDREN ARE MISSING ACROSS THE CITY."
I quickly got dressed and headed toward HQ, flipping on the radio to soak up the chaos unfolding before me.
"This is KTRH 740 bringing you an emergency update to the power outages that occurred this morning. The outages occurred from 12am to approximately 2am this morning. Local power companies currently have no explanation for the outages, but are investigating reports that a power surge occurred just prior to the blackout. The blackout reached most of the metroplex and surrounding counties, and we have reports that 10 families across the city are reporting that one or all of their children went missing during the blackout. Chief Acevedo has not given a press statement regarding this situation yet, but one is expected this morning."
I turned off the radio and mumbled to myself, "What the fuck is happening."
As I pulled up to HQ the local news stations were already setting up outside. I pushed through the growing mob of media and concerned families. Many were beginning to scream at the officers standing watch outside, begging for answers that no one could give them.
As I entered the Bull Pen, there was an observable disdain and quiet in the room. Though many of us, I could see one or two detectives were missing. Captain Trinh summoned me into his office and slammed the door so hard the windows rattled.
"YOU ARE BEING PLACED INTO MISSING PERSONS EFFECTIVE AS OF RIGHT NOW, AND I WANT YOU ON YOUR BEST FUCKING BEHAVIOR. NO FUCKING SCREW UPS, NO BULLSHIT, NOT WITH THIS. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME HAWKINS?" He shouted, it seemed more for show, but his face was turning a dark shade of red.
"Yes sir." I stated.
He began to speak while sliding my gun and badge across to me.
"You will help lead this investigation as the Lt. in charge of Missing Persons investigations is currently with his family, His daughter Stacy is missing. You are to report directly to me on ALL aspects of your investigation. Understood?"
"Yes sir, I do understand and you will be updated regarding this investigation. Do we have any leads?"
My eyes washed over him, and I could see that he was just as lost as the rest of us.
"We have one. The second call that came in was regarding a family living in the Heights. They are home and waiting on a Detective. Their daughter Janice was taken, but their son Zach was not. They stayed in the same room, he hasn't been questioned yet, as the family is obviously distraught and unnerved. It's the Perkins family. Joseph be courteous." He stated, obviously saddened by the need to question a young boy.
As I turned to walk away, he called out to me. "You will have a partner on this and I know you don't want one, but this isn't an option."
I walked from Trinh's office with anger and frustration coursing through my mind. As I stopped by the break room to grab a cup of coffee I was approached by Detective Mendoza. A veteran of the Missing Persons Division, "I see we will be working together." I continued walking as I responded, "Not as if I have a choice; but lets go meet the boy."
We pulled up to a small home in the Heights district at 5am, I observed several cars in the driveway and individuals waiting on the porch. I saw two grown men, both African American talking with local PD and visibly frustrated. I gathered this was due to a delay in response time. Mendoza and myself exited the unit, and began walking up to the home.
"Good morning, this is the Perkins' residence correct? This is Detective Hawkins and I'm Detective Mendoza." He stated, equally trying to gauge the situation.
"WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU ASSHOLES ALWAYS LATE WHEN COMING OUT HERE, WE GOT KIDS TOO." One of the men shouted at Mendoza.
Mendoza was certainly not Griffin and it showed, as Mendoza carefully expressed his concern regarding the response time and explained the nature of the situation across the city. Though not completely quelled, the argument did end there.
"James is inside with his boy, they are waiting on you now." The second man on the porch stated as he smoked a cigarette.
Walking in, I could see this was a home without a woman's touch, beer cans and coke cans littered most of the counter tops, and a disheveled man sat on the couch with his son. The father, James Perkins, sat there the very image of lost. His eyes staring far off into the wall. They kind of man the world continues to beat down even when they have had enough.
"Mr. Perkins, I'm Detective Hawkins, I'm with the Missing Persons Division and I'm here to speak with you regarding your daughters disappearance this morning. Do you have a moment." I asked, trying to he courteous.
"I don't know what happened, I put Janice and Zach down to bed. I woke up to Zach screaming and the lights were off. He wouldn't stop screaming, it was such horrible screaming." He stated as tears began to fall down his face. "When I walked into his room there were things all over the walls, written in blood. GOD I HOPE IT'S NOT HER BLOOD!" He sobbed.
I instructed Mendoza to continue with the father as I checked out the children's room. As I walked through the door I could smell the acrid stench of iron and blood. And on the wall was a horrible display. The endless serpent was drawn in blood on the wall. Words written above and below it reading:
"A Stranger, the Forgotten, has returned."
"I know who took her sir." A small voice uttered behind me; causing me to jump and reach for my pistol.
There stood Zach at the door, tears running his face. A small boy, maybe 8 years old wearing Spider-Man pajamas.
"I'm sorry son, you scared me a bit, lets step out of the room so we can speak together." I guided him to the kitchen where we sat at the table to talk. "You said you know who took your sister?"
Looking down at the floor, still weeping the boy slowly spoke. "Yes, he's our friend, but he doesn't seem like a friend anymore."
"So he's a family friend? " I asked, now hoping that this may be resolvable quickly.
"No, like a secret friend for Janice and me, he didn't let us tell dad about him. He said it was our secret, and that we could have amazing things if we kept it a secret. He said we would go somewhere very special." He said, becoming more animated as he spoke about this "friend."
"Do you know your friends name, or where this special place is? I asked.
He paused in thought before responding," He never gave us his name, just said he was a stranger and our friend. I don't know about the special place, but it is supposed to be different. Like here, but different."
I began to become more concerned, this had the sound of something sadistic, or disgusting like the pedophiles might say when coaching small children. I was interrupted in thought by Zach who continued speaking about this friend of his.
"He doesn't look nice though; he speaks nice, but doesn't look nice. He looks very scary. Like a monster." Zach said, his voice beginning to break.
"Describe him to son, so I can have an idea of who we are looking for." I asked, wondering now, where this story might lead.
"Today was the first time we saw him, he always stayed in the shadow behind the door so we couldn't see him. He wouldn't let us close to him, he would only talk. He is big, very very big, but seemed bigger today than the shadow. He was too scary to look at, big and kind of green like a lizard, I closed my eyes and began screaming." He said as tears began to roll down his cheeks.
My brow began to furrow and I was trying to read this child, many years of lying scum bags, they always have a tell, but I couldn't see this being a lie. His posture, his sadness, his reactions all to real. Perhaps a costume, but something about this story seemed real.
I gave the boy my thanks for his information, and we finished with the interviews on site. I asked Mendoza to drop me off at home as we needed as much rest as possible before we continued with the investigation. I asked him to come grab me by 1pm to continue. When I arrived home, I placed my keys on the counter and headed for the couch and laid down. As I rested there I heard movement from my room. Cautiously, I grabbed my pistol and walked into my room. There sitting at my small desk, was Janice.
"Detective, The Stranger is coming out to play." She said, as she giggled. The lights flickered and she was gone, writing now on my wall.
"A Stranger, the Forgotten, has returned."

(COMC) After four years in the hobby...

The collection.
I've been in the hobby for about four years now. Before then, I had played plenty of cards with friends and family, and I had enjoyed some random games of Catan or Ticket to Ride. But I never quite fell into the hobby until I started watching some youtube content and top 10s, which instantly showed me the new and varied ways that designers and publishers were doing cool stuff with cards, plastic, wood and chipboard. I think, like all of you, it was one of those revelatory moments.
I have a fairly reliable gaming group (mainly digital during COVID), and we get together for weekly, monthly and other impromptu events.
I'd consider myself an omni gamer, where I like a mixture of styles and am happy to try anything once. I probably skew towards a 2.5 to 3.5 on the BGG scale for complexity, and my collection tends to favor hybrids and thematic games, but also a good amount of worker placement, abstract, auction/bidding and lighthearted filler fare. I'm willing to play heavier games, but I do so with some consideration, making sure I'm in the right headspace to take on that cognitive load. As an example, I recently quite enjoyed some plays of Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar.
But I love the social aspects of the hobby, and I'm really just in it to bring some cool games to the table and have some fun. I really want to help others have a good time (I guess I'm a little more extrovert than introvert), and winning is only a secondary or tertiary thing for me. I try to keep people engaged, often teaching the games for our group and providing players with strategy context so they can have a chance to do well. That's when I'm happiest at the game table.
As for what I'd change about my collection? I'd like to continue to get better at spotting games that will work well for my group. I've really made strides (and have a wide array of options for different player counts and interest levels), but I still think I need to work on acquiring fewer games that I think will work with the group and more that I know will work with the group. Easy to be led astray by bling and cool themes but then have a game with empty mechanics.
Here's my BGG profile.

Top Genres

Based on sheer numbers, I'd say my top genres tend to be:

Favorite Games

In no particular order, some of my top games are:

Favorite Blinged-Out Games

Roll Player has the big box, both expansions, all promos, Meeple Realty insert, metal coins, playmat, and every card is sleeved. It's really a special system and game, and I just love having the thing fully complete and tricked out.
Viticulture is also complete, with both essential editions (Viticulture and Tuscany) plus both "visitors" expansions. Folded space insert, metal coins, sleeves on everything. Beautiful to have the complete version looking so nice.
Great Western Trail is the original edition, the expansion, custom-made metal coins (from Brazil!), BoardGameBoost acrylic playmats -- which are great -- plus cloth bags from BGG for the tiles. I also have this 3D-printed tile pusher that does an even better job for the worker tiles. Oh, and every card is sleeved, and I have the folded space insert. Pretty special game and setup.

Favorite Designers

I wouldn't cite too many, but definitely Reiner Knizia, and probably Alexander Pfister to an extent. Plus add folks like Bruno Cathala, Wolfgang Warsch and Emerson Matsuuchi. I'm not really tied to one designer, though. I'm glad to see more creators in the space, and I look forward to a day where we have more designers from different backgrounds, ethnicities, orientations and general life experiences. I can't wait to see what they come up with.

Favorite Publishers

Ditto for publishers. There are the major fixtures in the hobby, and I have plenty of their games. They are almost automatic for a lot of us, I feel. The only ones I'd probably namecheck would be Thunderworks, due to loving Roll Player and the associated games, and then Kids Table Board Games, as I like the energy of the games... and the company is Canadian (like me!). I'd also probably mention Arcane Wonders, as I have several enjoyable games from the Dicer Tower Essentials line (Smartphone Inc., Sheriff of Nottingham, Onitama).

Favorite Content Creators

I watch most stuff, but I'd say I still end up gravitating towards the Dice Tower, as their general survey and enjoyable content keeps me engaged and plugged in with what's going on. Like all creators, not everything they do works for me, but I enjoy the bulk of it. Still, I check out most other creators on youtube as time allows.

Recent Shelf Activity

I went feet first into Kickstarter way back when I started out, but it was really more of a way to jump-start my collection (along with retail purchases and trades). I've really settled into a more "reasonable" rhythm now, where I will cull games and move things on if they're not working for the group or if I don't feel they will have staying power. I still love supporting some Kickstarters (and I have a good amount still on the way), but I look at it as a cool way to enable creators and possibly get some cool games. I research campaigns diligently, and I've never been burned. A few dud games, but lots of great things too.
Recent acquisitions from retail or Kickstarter include:
Recent sold games or games currently for sale:
Games or expansions I still need to play (shelf of shame):

Anticipated Games

Of the upcoming games I've backed, these are the ones I'm most anticipating:

2021 and Beyond

I've got lots of space in the 5x5 Kallax to add to my game footprint (and a small overflow closet), and I'm going to try to keep some games going out as others come in. I've reached a nice equilibrium with Kickstarter and purchases to not just load up the shelves, and I'm hopeful to sharpen my tastes in certain genres over the coming months.
Have I got any glaring holes for genres in my collection? I haven't played Trade on the Tigris yet... is it good? I'm hopeful, as I love Chinatown. How about The King's Dilemma? Any good? I'm tempted to acquire it, but I know a dedicated group is probably key. Oh yeah: as I have Whale Riders fulfilling soon, backers can get a cheap version of Yellow and Yangtze. Thoughts? Worth it?
I've also recently sleeved most of my games. How about you? I'm probably a touch OCD that way, as I wanted to get the right fit for most games. Some premium and some not, but I find having games sleeved and organized (tuck boxes, inserts, pre-set in certain bags) allows the game to hit the table easier.
I also excel -- I'd like to think -- at teaching games. Any of these on my shelf have a good/bad teach story for you? Are any of the games I have ones you've been wanting to try or have a meaningful review for?
And finally, what are some game organization and setup tips you have for your games that help them hit the table faster? I do actually have two great board game bags from Board Game Garage, but I always love those nuggets of organizational advice that people have.
Thanks for looking at the collection! Peep the cats in the gallery =)

I Really Need Help

Me [M15] and my dad [48] haven't always had the best relationship. When I was little he was always busy with work, and in 2013 he got fired from his job and we had almost no money. He eventually got another job that made us financially stable about 3 months later. During those 3 months however, we were able to spend some time together which was good for our relationship. We moved from our house to another one about a year after that in 2014. We got our dog Hurley, a yellow lab, about a year before (sorry I forgot to mention it). In that neighborhood, me and my sister were doing an animal shelter supply drive for our school project, by collecting blankets, towels, dog toys, etc. that would be sent to the shelter. The neighborhood sent out a newsletter about what we were doing to bring attention and help us get more items. This one crazy lady came after us for doing this, and for 2 years, terrorized me and my family. She would constantly file court cases against us, and at one point brought up in court the brand and type of gun my dad kept in his safe. 2 years later, we finally got a restraining order on her because she would constantly border the law, but never cross it until she followed my sister home from school. My parents were constantly fighting, and the situation didn't help. Finally, they got a divorce in early 2017. My dad moved to a friends house, and my mom stayed with the house until she was able to find a job. We stayed with her, but had custody days during the week so we could go see my dad. My dad also started his own business, so he had a little more free time to hang out with us. One of our favorite things to do were to go to Celebration Station on Wednesdays for their half-price game night, and my dad was really good at the Wizard of Oz coin pusher. We made at least 6000 tickets each time we went there. My mom eventually moved to a townhouse so my parents could split the money from selling the house. While my dad was still living at the friend's house, he would constantly be looking for a girlfriend. His first girlfriend was a few years younger than him, around 44 at the time. My dad thought she was nice, but me and my sister didn't like her. We could see right through her and see that she only was with my dad for the money. He dumped her because we finally told him and he agreed. About a month later, he got a new girlfriend. She was the same age, and she was extremely nice. She didn't overstep her boundaries, she was very nice and she could have cared less about money. Unfortunately, she was an extreme alcoholic and my dad didn't feel comfortable having her around with me and my sister while so drunk she doesn't even remember what happened. Finally, about 4 months after that, he met his current girlfriend. She seemed nice at first, but she has some serious issues. Whenever we would go visit him he would always bring her and her 2 little dipshit kids with her. These 2 kids are the most spoiled, disrespectful, and angry kids I have ever met in my entire life. Everything was going as smoothly as it could until last year. My mom was getting evicted from her house and didn't know how to support us with the little money she was making at her job. My dad had moved in with his girlfriend, and so we came there too since our mom couldn't support us at that time. My mom finally quit her job and started working for Shipt, the grocery delivery service. She started making a lot more money doing that than she did working her last job, however she had to move in with my aunt to try and save some money so she should find another house. Me and my sister got our own rooms, but we had to put up a wall to be able to make a room for my sister. Everything continued like this for a few months, until something happened. Me, my sister, and my step sister went down to the local gas station on our bikes to get some Icees, so we could beat the horrible heat. My step sister thought it was a genius idea to wear flipflops on a bike, as well as buy 2 Icees. She fell and tripped, and she hurt her foot. We had to call her mom to come and get her because we couldn't get her home. So, we started to bike off, and she got in the car with her mom. As we were riding our bikes, the step mom decides she would throw an Icee from her car window at us, hitting us and making us swerve, almost getting my sister hit by a car. I swerved into a swamp and got bitten by a black racer. We eventually got back to the house, and we were livid. We had a huge scream fight with her, and somehow my dad stayed with her. My sister could have been hit by a CAR, and he still wants to stay with her. Things got better after my dad threatened to move out and break up with her if she didn't quit the psychotic behavior. I would list everything she's done but that would overwhelm the rest of the post. Long story short, she has severe anger issues. We still don't know why she threw the Icee at us, but it was probably something stupid or the step sister lied about something. Earlier this year, back in April, we noticed that my dog was extremely sluggish and was not looking well. I tried telling my dad that something was wrong, and he didn't listen to me for 2 MONTHS. My dog has not been taken to the vet in years since my parents "couldn't afford it". Finally, in July, my dad took Hurley. It turns out, I was right. He has been diagnosed with critical diabetes, and was given insulin syringes and insulin to help. He was also diagnosed with thyroid disease, which would also explain the sluggishness, which he was given a pill for. Ever since then, he seems like a puppy again and it brings me to tears thinking about how he felt for those months, as well as happy tears because I feel like I have my old dog back. Ever since 5th grade, my patella would pop out of place and dislocate, which was extremely painful. I wasn't able to do very much and my parents thought it was growing pains. It would dislocate at school, where I would collapse to the ground crying because it felt like someone was shooting my knee with a gun. I wasn't able to run, or really do anything that required moving a lot. 5 years later, after it continues to happen and I've had to go on crutches twice after it completely dislocates, we decide its time for surgery. I got the surgery about 2 months ago exactly. I haven't been able to move around much, and have had to take it easy and not move around much. Since quarantine was happening and I was doing virtual school, it was the perfect time to do it. Since then, I have been able to start walking with a brace. However, since I am doing school online, I tend to stay in my room a lot. I can't really go anywhere because of my surgery, and my dad has been feeling really lonely. He wants to spend time with me but we have never really spent time together before that didn't involve going somewhere. He wasn't always the greatest dad when I was little, and I barely got to spend time with him. I guess he feels guilty now and wants to do something with me. Since we never really did anything together, we don't know how to interact with each other. We are almost like completely different people. He enjoys building things and looking at cars, while I enjoy mostly playing videogames, hanging out with friends, you know normal teenage things. However, I am an extreme introvert. I hate interacting with people, which is why quarantine has been a dream come true for me. The only thing we really do together is play Mario Kart on our switches, and that is getting really boring. I've been depressed the past couple weeks and would not come out of my room for days on end, even to eat sometimes. I'm constantly hearing from my sister about how my dad thinks I don't want to spend time with him, but I really do. He's never done this with me before so I don't know HOW to spend time with him. He's getting really sad and I don't know how to fix it. We can't go anywhere because of said knee surgery and the pandemic, so I really don't know what to do. All these things that have happened within the last 6 years have been extremely stressful and I really don't know where everything went wrong, where my life turned to shit and constantly made me unhappy. My dog is the only thing that has kept me from killing myself many times. When he was diagnosed with diabetes and was in critical condition I went into a really rough patch and was seconds away from ending it all, because my dog has been the only one who I feel actually can connect with me, even if he is a dog. I would really appreciate if anyone could give me some advice on how to spend time with my dad, deal with everything that is happening, or really respond at all. I'm coming really close to my breaking point. Since my dog is a bigger dog, his life is going to be coming to a close within a few years. When that happens, if I haven't gotten everything figured out, I really am worried that I will try to kill myself. Because then, I'm basically completely alone. I don't have a very good relationship with my family, I don't have many friends, and am getting bad things constantly thrown at me that just make me want to just end it all.

Beginner's Guide to Arena of Valor

Beginner's Guide to Arena of Valor

Intro

Hey fellow plebs,
As I’m sure you’ve noticed, we’ve been getting some frequent new player questions on this sub lately. Since the game is no longer as popular as before (still doing good though), there are a lot of wrong/outdated information out there on the internet. Fortunately, I have nothing better to do with my life and decided to volunteer myself to write this guide where I compile a list of information/guides that IS up to date. I’m obviously not going to find every relevant guide out there, so please help me out if there is something that I’ve missed.
In this guide, I will cover the absolute basics of the game such as the map, objectives, roles, relevant heroes, and how to improve at the game. Ideally we can keep this stickied and I'll keep this updated so we can have an updated community guide for any new players that decides to join us in the future.

TL;DR – No TL;DR here, keep on reading and maybe you'll finally stop getting reported every game and get out of gold!

The Map

I’m sure most of you are familiar with the map if you’ve played a MOBA in your life, it’s fairly standard with three lanes and a jungle. The three lanes consists of the Abyssal Dragon lane, mid lane and the Dark Slayer lane (more on this later with pictures). There are 3 enemy towers on each lane, making it a total of 9 towers and one core for you to destroy.
This is where things become a little different from PC MOBAS, the maps in AOV are mirrored. What this means is that you will ALWAYS start from the bottom left of the map from YOUR perspective. Why is this? Because it’s easier for the player (that’s you!) to play upwards instead of downwards since your skills and your fat fingers will block and limit your vision if you’re playing downwards. Why does this matter? Because this means that the Abyssal Dragon lane and the Dark Slayer lane will be in different lanes (top or bottom) depending on the game. Don’t worry, I’ll explain what the Abyssal Dragon and the Dark Slayers is soon and everything will make sense. Just know that unlike PC MOBAs, the solo lane isn’t ALWAYS the top lane, and the ADC doesn’t ALWAYS go to the bottom lane.

Blue circle = Dark slayer, Red circle = Abyssal Dragon/Enraged Abyssal Dragon (after 15 mins)

Although the position of the Abyssal Dragon and the Dark Slayer changes match to match, the position of the buffs doesn't change. Your blue buff will ALWAYS spawn near the top lane, and your red buff will ALWAYS spawn near the bottom lane. Similarly, the enemy blue buff will spawn on the right hand side of the map and the enemy red buff will spawn on the left hand side of the map.

Red circle = Red buff, Blue circle = Blue buff

Roles

The roles should be fairly straight forward if you’ve played LoL before, but will be slightly foreign if you’re a MLBB player or a big brained DOTA player. It’s okay, we’re taking baby steps here, I will explain the basics of every role below. I’ll also include some recommended starting heroes (both free & ones you buy), heroes you can work towards for each role, and heroes to avoid.
Mid Lane:
Any hero with a fast/safe wave clear will excel in this role. Mages typically do well in this role although some Warriors are also okay if you want to get fancy (you should stick to mages early on though). What you want to do is clear your wave as soon as possible, roam to one of your side lanes to gank, and be back for your next minion wave. Getting back to your lane for your next minion wave is EXTREMELY important because otherwise you will fall behind in farm. A lot of mages overstay their welcome when ganking the side lanes and end up missing their minion wave completely in the mid lane. Not only do they miss gold from their minion wave, they also end up taxing their side laner’s gold.
Recommended starting heroes:
Krixi (Free) – She’s a top tier mage despite being one of the first free heroes the game gives you. She has good range/poke, a little CC with her S2, and good burst from her ultimate. Mechanics wise she’s very simple, and very easy to use for new players.
Diao Chan (Free) – She’s a very devastating hero in the right hands because of her S2 freeze, which can often turn the tides of a game completely. They are a little hard to land consistently but hey she’s free.
Aleister (Free) - Has one of the stupidest most devastating ult in the game, and he's free for new players from Road to glory.
Dirak (18,888 Gold) – Best mid laner in the current meta. He has insane range/poke, insane damage, good CC with his S1 push & S2, very quick wave clear, and very good team fighting capabilities. Only weakness is that he’s not very mobile.
Marja (18,888 Gold) – Very forgiving yet strong mage in the current meta. She doesn’t have a lot of burst damage, but has tons of sustain and is able to dish out a ton of damage in long team fights. Her ultimate is the ultimate “get out of jail” card making her one of the most forgiving heroes to play. She also doesn’t use any mana which is perfect for new players who might have trouble with mana management. Oh, you also get a ton of her trial cards from the daily spin, so you can test her out quite a bit before purchasing her.
Heroes to work towards:
Lilliana (18,888 Gold) – She has two forms (Fox and Human), which means you need at least two brain cells to play her. She’s one of the strongest late game mages in the game, and her early game just got buffed as well making her one of the strongest overall mages in the game.
Raz (13,333 Gold) – An assassin mage that requires slightly fast fingers to pull off your full combo. He has very good poke and burst damage, but doesn’t have a lot of AoE damage and has slow wave clear. You need to have somewhat of a decent map awareness to be good with Raz so you can pick off squishy heroes. He’s much more effective in high elo where your support will (hopefully) help you clear waves so you can roam faster. Not as effective in low elo where your support either doesn’t buy the support item thus leeching your gold/exp, or doesn’t help you clear at all.
There are also tons of other good mid laners such as Paine/Tulen/Ignis/Jinnaetc I'm too lazy to list them all.
Heroes to avoid:
Veera/Mganga/Azzenka – These heroes might seem decent or even good earlier on, but trust me they suck. They might get you to as high as Platinum/Diamond, but that’s it.
Dark Slayer Lane:
This is also known as the solo lane, warrior type heroes who have good 1v1 capabilities, good sustain, and good escape options are usually picked here. This lane is where you showcase your big brain against your opponents and get those solo kills. If you enjoy the thrill of asserting dominance over a single opponent, then this is the role for you my friend. There are several types of heroes that gets picked into this lane including assassins, split pushers, duelists, and tanks.
Recommended starting heroes:
Lubu (Free) – Very well rounded hero, has good damage and has good sustain. He matches up decently against most matchups.
Arthur (Free) – Very good starting hero to get your hands, innately tanky and hard to take down. He doesn’t have a lot of carry potential but is still deadly if played correctly.
Omen (8,999) – He’s on sale for the first two weeks if you’re in the NA/EU server iirc for 8,999 gold, he’s one of the premier split pushers in the game right now (along with Kilgroth). Split pushing seems like an easy role but requires a lot of map awareness and good decision making. You need to know when you can safely push, and when you should join team fights. He also has one of the few hard CCs (cannot be purified) in the game with his ult.
Maloch (18,999) – One of the most forgiving heroes in the slayer lane right now. Does a ton of damage with the true damage on his S1, and is capable of tanking a ton with the shield on his S2 along with his innate tankiness. His ultimate also makes him one of the best initiators in the game, there’s nothing to not like about Maloch right now other than that he’s a bit slow. High elo likes to play him at the mid lane and force fights around him since he’s such a potent team fight hero.
Heroes to work towards:
Yena (18,999 Gold) – One of the strongest heroes in the game when played correctly. She has two different forms so it does take a bit of practice mechanically, which is why it’s a hero I recommend only after you’ve gotten used to the macro aspect of the game. You need to know how/when/where to camp you opponents to utilize her full potential.
Riktor (18,999 Gold) – One of most popular picks in high elo and competitive play, has the perfect amount of tankiness and damage in the game right now IMO. Similar to Yena, I highly recommend only after you’ve gotten used to the macro aspects of the game since he needs to utilize bush camping as well.
Florentino (18,999 Gold) – The strongest 1v1 hero in the game but takes a lot of practice. It takes a lot of experience to use him correctly in team fights but is very deadly once mastered. IMO, you can’t say you’ve mastered the DS laner role without having figured out the ins and outs of this hero.
Again there are tons of other good DS laners such as Qi/Volkath/Veres/etc that are very viable in the meta, try them out and see which one fits your play style better.
Heroes to avoid:
Taara/Wiro/Arduin/Skud – There are too many heroes that are capable of doing what these heroes are supposed to do, but do it 10x better.
Abyssal Dragon Lane:
Usually the ADC goes here, sometimes the games are also played without an ADC in high elo so any DS lane hero works here as well. In low elo you’ll most likely see a duo lane with a support right from the start, but in high elo you’re support will (hopefully) be roaming to provide vision for the entire team so you have to know how to lane by yourself as well. The Abyssal Dragon is the first major objective of the game as it gives the whole team extra gold/exp and spawns at the 2:00 mark. There was also a recent buff that buffed the dark slayer lane/mid lane towers to have 60% damage reduction for the first 5 minutes, meaning that the majority of the early game battles will be focused around the Abyssal Dragon lane. As an ADC, your job is to farm and survive until the late game where you start to take over and carry the team. You need good positioning, map awareness, and good farming capabilities to excel in this role.
Recommended starting heroes:
Violet (Free): Pretty sure you get her for free after completing a few ranked games in NA, she’s not as broken as before but she’s definitely still deadly when given appropriate farm. She has insane range with her S1 and can poke enemies from afar, which is really good for new players starting out.
Valhein (Free): I know Valhein is kind of a meme and gets associated with small brain players, but he’s a really good starting hero. He’s extremely forgiving as the only marksman with an auto aimed stun on his S2, which allows him to engage or disengage from an enemy assassin. However, he falls off hard in the lately game damage wise compared to other marksman. My recommendation is to use him for 10 games or so to get used to the role, and switch to another marksman afterwards.
Capheny (18,999 Gold) – IMO the best marksman in the game right now. She’s the only marksman that can move WHILE attacking, which makes her extremely forgiving as she can often kill the enemy assassins if they miss their skill shots. She does tons of sustained damage in her machine gun form, and does tons of burst damage in her laser form. The best part is, she often gets overlooked in the B/P phase.
Telannas (18,999 Gold) – One of the easiest hero in the game alongside Valhein, just use your S1 S2 and auto attack the shit out of the enemies with an occasional stun from your S3.
Heroes to work towards:
Elsu (18,999 Gold) – There are no wards in this game with the exception of Elsu’s S1, making him extremely valuable in high elo and competitive games. Mechanically he’s one of the hardest heroes in the game, because you need to be able to hit his S2 consistently to be valuable.
Elandor (18,999 Gold) – Mechanically he’s one of the hardest marksman in the game, but is very rewarding when mastered. IMO he’s better as a jungler when he can get that gold/level advantage, but is still viable in lane when mastered.
Laville – He’s a codex hero, so if you weren’t around for the codex last season you won’t be able to get him until he’s put into the shop 4-8 weeks from now, or maybe even longer.
Joker (18,999 Gold) – He’s not really an ADC, but more of an Anti-ADC. He counters most ADCs in lane (except for Elsu), but he’s more of an ranged assassin than an ADC.
Hayate (18,999 Gold) – He has one of the latest late games out of all the ADCs, but is one of the strongest after he gets to his late game.
Heroes to avoid:
Wisp/Moren/Yorn – No reason to be playing these when you have the above available
Jungler:
You’re the pseudo carry of the team until your ADC comes online in the late game. The jungler shoulders the most responsibility more often than not because you’re responsible for initiating ganks, taking major objectives, and controlling the general flow of the game. Typically, it’s very hard to win games with a bad jungler as opposed to any other role.
Recommended starting heroes:
Kriknak (Free) – One of the strongest burst heroes in the game, he’s an typically Assassin who targets the squishies on the opposing teams. He’s not very complicated mechanics wise, so you mainly have to work on your macro
Butterfly (Free) – One of the most iconic heroes of AoV, any kills & assists refreshes all of her CDs making her one of the best snowball heroes in the game. You need to time her entry in order to be good, and she falls off slightly in the late game
Zephys (Hero Tokens/First time voucher purchase reward) – One of the most balanced heroes in the game with good damage, sustain and tainkiness. Very good in low elo where people fight ALL the time.
Heroes to work towards:
There are so many good junglers right now, look at the tier lists below and pick your poison, you literally can’t go wrong.
Assassins: Paine/Keera/Enzo/Zill/Nakroth/Murad/etc
ADC junglers: ElandoLindis/Fennik/Violet are the popular ones
Heroes to avoid:
Wukong – He crits big numbers but is too RNG dependent in the early game. Although he’s good late game, his team usually never gets there.
Support:
You’re the glue of the team, you’re what keeps the team together and give them space to deal damage. You provide peel for your carries and provide vision for your team (there are no wards in this game so you're a human ward). While the role seems insignificant at first, it’s no doubt one of the most important roles in the game. Ideally you tap into this role only after getting a good grasp of other roles.
Oh, and BUY THE GOD DAMN SUPPORT ITEM. It gives you extra gold and allows you to soak minion gold/exp WITHOUT leeching from your carries.
Recommended starting heroes:
Alice (Free) – One of the strongest supports in high elo right now, she’s kind of useless pre-4 but her ult counters pretty much all of the meta heroes at the moment. You literally just place it in the middle of the team fight and watch your team demolish the opponents, especially in the late game.
Ormarr (Free) – He’s a free hero that’s relatively tanky with a ton of cc in his kit, he can be very aggressive in the early game and can be very oppressive if played correctly.
Thane (5,888) – The tankiest hero in the game, he also has a ridiculous amount of CC with his S1 push and can turn the tide of the team fight when used correctly.
Heroes to work towards:
Zip (18,999) – The most broken hero in the game, if not banned he’s a MUST pick in high elo.
Krizzix (18,999) – One of the best initiators in the game with his S2 & invisibility, he also provides a ton of vision for the team with his ult
Baldum (18,999) – IMO one of the scariest supports when played to his full potential. He’s very tanky, has ton of cc, and has a very game deciding ult.
Heroes to avoid:
Peura – She had her moment a few patches ago, but the meta of babysitting the ADC is long gone. Since there are no wards in this game, supports NEED to roam and provide vision for the team in high elo. She’s a fine hero in low elo, but I’d recommend to avoid her in order to not pick up bad habits & get used to roaming.
Xeniel – I hate to say this as he’s one of my favorite heroes, but avoid in soloQ. People will flame you when you don’t ult, and will run away from your ult when you do ult them. You can literally do no right with this hero unless you’re actively communicating with your team.
Grakk – IMO new players should avoid this hero. New players often get so fixated on hooking people that they end up forgetting what a support SHOULD be doing.
Rouie - She's one of the most broken supports in the right hands and the right team, you won't have that in the beginning so avoid until you're in relatively high elo.

Objectives:

Towers: This should be obvious, but AoV is a tower pushing game. The objective is to destroy towers which leads to the nexus/core. There are 9 towers to push in total with 3 towers in each lane, your minions get buffed and become “super” minions after you push down all of the towers in a lane. They get a further buff once you push down all 9 towers although that’s not required for destroying the nexus (you only need one lane of towers to be pushed to reach the Nexus) although it does make things easier.
Vision bird: Minor objective on the sidelanes, but it's something that you should go for whenever possible. Once killed, the vision bird turns into a vision orb thingy that walks around the enemy jungle in a specific pattern and gives you vision throughout their jungle. This is very useful in detecting ganks, and determining the position of the opponent jungler (although the jungler could still avoid being seen by not getting caught by the orb).
Abyssal Dragon: This is the first major objective that’s contested by both teams, it spawns at the 2:00 mark. Killing the dragon provides each member of the team 50 gold each (correct me if I’m wrong), and extra EXP.
Spirit Sentinel: The spirit senteniel spawns at the 1:50 mark, it’s weaker than the Abyssal Dragon but grants the individual killer with a HP recovery buff & movement speed buff. This is good for the jungler to get if your team is not positioned to contest the Abyssal Dragon.
Dark Slayer: Spawns at the 7 minute mark, provides your team with some HP/MP recovery buff but most important lets you summon a Drake within the next 60 seconds. The Drake buffs all of your minions and can attack towers outside of tower range making a very valuable tool to push down towers. Using the Drake correctly can almost guarantee a T1 tower (high ground) for your team, and often times decide the game.
Enraged Abyssal Dragon: Spawns at the 15 minute mark. Killing the Dragon will give you a buff depending on your role, but most importantly the Dragon drops the "Dark blessing" (you pick this up by standing on it) which allows you to avoid fatal damage, kind of like the Death Sickle item.

General Etiquettes

Don’t Flame
Don’t be one of those players that spend more time on the keyboard than playing the game, if you're one of these people then go hang out in the all chat with the rest of the virgins looking to get cat-fished. Every second you waste typing in chat is a wasted opportunity that could’ve been used to turn the game around. Be nice in chat and don’t insult people – encouragement often has a much better effect than flaming. People tend to become defensive when they get flamed (even when you’re right), what happens when people get defensive? They start wasting time typing instead of playing. So instead of 0-4 now they’re more likely to go 0-7, or worse they start intentionally trolling/afking in a game that was probably winnable. Lets avoid these situation by being the big brained people that we are. A quick “lets get slayer” or “play safe” is fine, don’t go insulting people and their mothers.
Don’t complain about your team in all chat
If there’s one thing more annoying than flamers is people that flame in all chat. Nobody on the other team cares, and nobody sympathizes with you. In fact, you look even more like a clown than the 0-8 Valhein more often than not.
Don’t take Jungle buffs unless you’re jungling
This isn’t ML, don’t take your jungler’s buffs especially in the early game. Your jungler won’t reach level 4 if you took a camp before his first clear, this puts your team at a disadvantage because he won’t have his ultimate before the first team fight. There is more gold in lane in this game, so clear your minion waves. You can take a small camp close to lane here and there, but don’t take buffs without asking. The only time you don’t have to ask is if your jungler already has the buff from invading the enemy jungle, otherwise a simple “can I have blue” will do. Most junglers that don’t need it will be happy to give it to you unless you’re feeding hard.
Ping "Enemy Missing" if the enemy is missing
It's technically their fault if they get caught, but just do it so your stupid teammates don't flame you and you don't end up in a typing war which could lose you a winnable game.
Don't take your laner's waves unless he has no intention of coming back or it's crashing into the tower
This will put your laner behind in gold because he would've missed a full minion wave. The only time taking a free wave is okay is if the said laner has no intention of coming back (i.e on the other side of the map or dead) or if the minion wave is crashing into the tower. If the laner is walking back into his lane and the minion wave isn't crashing into the tower, don't take it.
It's okay to share minions more often than not since sharing will give you more TOTAL gold (but less individual gold), but that's a story for another time.
Don't surrender as soon as you die
This is a personal pet peeve but just because you smooth brained a teamfight doesn't mean your team is also being smooth brained. The most annoying thing that comes up in a team fight is the surrender screen because it takes up space and blocks vision. The stupid decline button is also near important items such as Arctic orb/Bow of Slaughter and people with fat fingers (like me) can mistakenly press them leading to a loss.

How to improve?

This is a very good guide to improving at the game although slightly outdated since nobody plays Abyssal Clash anymore
Here's a couple of things that I would add:
1) Upgrade your arcanas to level 2
- Upgrade your arcanas to level 2 first, determine the role you want to play using the free heroes mentioned above, and then work towards level 3 arcanas.
- Level 2 arcanas are more cost effective and can be upgraded using the free arcana coins the game provides for free whereas level 3 arcanas will cost gold. You should determine the role/heroes you want to play/main before investing into level 3 arcanas.
- You can use gems on double gold cards to earn gold faster to complete your arcana set and/or buy new heroes
2) Practice last hitting
Last hitting a minion gives you 40% extra gold, this slowly adds up to your advantage.
3) Don't play support right off the bat
Support roles are one of the most important roles in the game, but you shouldn't main support RIGHT away.
Think of it this way, how can you support your carry when you don't know how to carry? How can you be a good support when you don't even know what your carry wants to do? The support role is VERY macro eccentric, you have to have a good understanding of every role before jumping into the support role.
Once you got the carry role down, support will be a lot easier because you already know what you want and don't want your supports to do.
I'm a support main personally, but I started as an ADC/DS lane player. From there, I was able to find out what things I want my support to do and what things I don't want my support to do. After playing with some good supports and keeping a track of their habits, I was easily able to switch over to the support role. If you look at the best support players today, almost none of them started as support players.
4) Don't "fill the gap"
When you're just starting out, try to avoid "filling the gap" and try to spam one or two roles as much as possible.
But why? Isn't it good to be flexible?
Yes and no.
Let me give an example:
Lets say it takes 500 games to get to masters spamming a single role (theoretical number), at 5 games a day it’ll take you 100 days or just a little bit over 3 months. However, if you played a different role every game you played because you chose to fill, you would only have 100 games on every role after the same time and still be stuck in Plat or something. Keep in mind that the learning in this game is NOT linear, other roles become increasingly easier to learn after you’ve mastered one because every role is connected. So instead of taking another 500 games to learn a second role, it might only take 350 and so forth. At that point, you’re also play much higher quality competition, so you’ll improve at a faster rate as well.
With that said, you should still learn a secondary role that you can fall back on for ranked just in case your main role got taken.
5) Move on to heroes with more upside
Obviously if you’re playing to have fun, do whatever you want this won’t apply to you. But if you want to improve at this game there is absolutely zero reason to have 500 games on Valhein/Arthur. Those are fine heroes to test the waters with but it doesn’t take more than 20 games to know their kit inside out. Once you’ve decided on a role and have tested the waters with a somewhat “easy” hero, you’ll want to start to move on to hardestronger heroes with more carry potential. For example, let’s say you’ve decided to play the DS laner role, you’ll eventually want to move away from Arthur into slightly more mechanically difficult heroes like Lubu, Yena, Riktor, Florentino who have much more upside and bigger carry potential.
6) COUNTER BUILD
Only a handful of heroes need to build the same items every game, most heroes have tons of flexibility in their builds. Enemy doesn't have a lot of cc/magic damage? You can build Armor boots instead of Guilded. Enemy has tons of magic damage? Grab that early Medallion of Troy. Enemy has a ton of life steal like Kilgroth/Lubu? Grab Anti Heal.
7) Be Aggressive (in casual)
Note that being aggressive is NOT the same as being stupid. Being aggressive means taking calculated risks to outplay the enemy, for example if you see 4 people bottom and one top, you cut off the enemy top lane minion wave & invade their top side jungle. Being stupid is invading the top side jungle when you don't see any enemies on the map and end up getting collapsed on.
Being aggressive is going 1v2 with your Florentino when you have a 1k gold advantage over them. Being stupid is going 1v2 with your Valhein while behind in gold.
Be aggressive, don't be stupid.
If you made a stupid play, at least learn from it so you don't int next time.
8) Play with other people
For some stupid ass reason people like to gloat about playing soloQ, okay chill out we get it you have no friends and live in your mom's basement here's a cookie. If you want to further improve at the game, you'll want to start playing with other good players preferably over voice chat. This will drastically improve your macro sense of the game, and force you to get in a good habit of calling out misses, calling out flickepurify timers, and timing the enemy buffs.
9) LOOK AT THE FILTHY MINIMAP
Yes, look at the god damn minimap.

USE THESE AS A GUIDELINE FOR YOUR ARCANAS/ENCHANTMENTS. As you get more experience you can tweak them around to suit your playstyle better.
Darkbreaker - One of the best DS laners in the world, but also plays other roles occasionally. His recent videos have commentary so you could learn a lot. Keep an eye on his laning mechanics, he has a very good understanding of heroes in the Dark Slayer lane.
Shurko - Gaming genius/warlord/pharaoh/commander on his soloq adventures. Good mix of entertainment and quality gameplay.
Zane - You're going to go back by half a year plus to find his old AoV videos, but most of them have commentary and are still viable in today's meta macro wise. He was the best jungleplayer in NA/EU.
Rush - One of the best junglers in the world, he does a lot of troll builds for fun as well, so make sure to identify those before blindly following
HAK - One of the best mids IMO.
These are the ones I pay attention to mainly, let me know if there are any other good ones and I'll add.
Oh and of course we can't forget our very own InfamousAoV who's doing a giveaway on his channel right now, make sure to check him out and support.

Dengeki G's Magazine August Issue Misaka Mikoto Character Interview ft. Kamachi Kazuma & Fuyukawa Motoi

Dengeki G's Magazine August Issue Misaka Mikoto Character Interview ft. Kamachi Kazuma & Fuyukawa Motoi
TL: Botman & Dracoslayer123
Interview: https://imgur.com/a/FKggbgt
Q1: How did you come up with the name Misaka Mikoto?
Kamachi: I have a bad habit of giving my characters strange names on accident. Misaka Mikoto is a beautiful name whose pronunciation can be read directly. In addition, the novel's prologue also contains a number of names and phrases in the Japanese style, such as Kamijou (as in Kamijou no Touma) and the Five Elements Institution (as in the Imaginary Number District). The name was devised in a similar fashion. …I just don't know if I'll have a chance to make it public.
Q2: How was the idea of Mikoto’s ability, the Railgun (Electromaster), conceived?
Kamachi: Thinking of the strongest “Standard Level” in Academy City... I first looked for something easily imagined… so I chose “electricity.” When we talk about electricity in the human body, it’s really just some static electricity from hair and clothes. So what if one were to use such electricity to carry out fancy attacks? In the end, she became a kid whose hair would stand and would fire a railgun using her own body with a coin. Furthermore, since Stiyl Magnus in the first book of A Certain Magical Index is a fire magician, I thought it should be another type of power. I think the highlight is the fact that instead of having to throw it with your hand, it just shoots out of your fingers.
Q3: Please tell us Mikoto's position in A Certain Magical Index series?
Kamachi: She is a "secondary" character that started from being the description role of "In Academic City where science rules everything, Espers are managed in a a level system". And then unexpectedly, she has now become a central character of the story. Despite being a secondary character, she can do what other characters can't. Now she, without being caught by the flow of the main story, has probably become a symbol of freedom in the series.
Q4: Which parts are easy to write about Mikoto, and which parts aren’t so easy?
Kamachi: It's easy for Mikoto to appear as a helper in battle. She can draw information from the internet, fly over buildings, and provide high firepower with her bare hands. There's no easier way to debut than this. On the other hand, if she becomes too absorbed in the battle, it might feel like her character as a rich young lady will be completely forgotten.
Q5: What caused Mikoto to love Gekota so much?
Kamachi: There is no special story behind it – it was love at first sight. I believe hobbies formed in such a way have relatively strong bonds, and I think it will become a lifelong hobby of hers.
Q6: Since Mikoto was born a rich young lady, there would be many times when she would have different feelings towards money than the “common folk”. How much of a difference do you think exists?
Kamachi: I don’t think she has any real concept of money; not just Mikoto, but also all the other students of Tokiwadai who have spent so much on themselves. Since everything is paid by credit card or by mobile phone, it’s nigh impossible to notice, so to speak.
Q7: Mikoto has a very strong Esper ability, but her physical abilities are just as impressive. How did she train her body?
Kamachi: ... Probably by fighting in the streets? At least, she neither attended gyms to exercise nor joined any sport clubs. She's like a stray cat or crow in a city.
Q8: What's the pace of Mikoto’s ability development, considering she reached Level 5 when she was 12?
Kamachi: It's not like she suddenly obtained a high level, nor did she lose her sense of direction due to her strong ability. Instead, she started as a Level 0 in first grade and then increased her level at a pace that was "a little faster than the other children?", and then kept growing without reaching a limit. Note, while Misaki was in a high position from the very beginning, once Mikoto kept growing and finally reached Level 5, the difference between the Third and the Fifth was formed.
Q9: Mikoto's mother, Misuzu, has a very nice body. Does Mikoto have a chance to become like that in the future?
Kamachi: In addition to genetics, diet and daily activities are also related to one’s lifestyle. For example, if the two live in the same home and have breakfast together at the same time, then I think Mikoto will have a body similar to Misuzu. But what will be the future of Mikoto, who’s living away from her parents in Academy City…?
Q10: Mikoto plays the violin, but how’s her technique? Furthermore, is there anything else that she considers trivial but others think is totally amazing?
Kamachi: I think Mikoto learned to play the violin through her teachings as a rich young lady. In other words, her ability should be top notch and should not be much different from Shirai’s or Shokuhou’s, who also attend Tokiwadai. Regarding the coin pusher game that her arcade coins are from, I think it’s a hobby of hers.
Q11: Please tell me what you thought when you first saw the character design by Haimura. Also, how much did you specify about the physical appearance of Mikoto?
Kamachi: It’s easy for the heroine to have long hair if I’m not careful (the only reason Mikoto’s hair is short is to avoid her becoming a duplicate of Index). I thought it was a very simple and complete hair design and that it was the new way to go.
Q12: Please tell us what you thought when you first saw Fuyukawa Motoi’s A Certain Scientific Railgun manga and the Railgun anime.
Kamachi: My first impression was “Mikoto isn’t the younger one!?” (laughs). Although she’s just 14 years old, she’s also an “older sister.” While the general outline is written by me, the final results after the story is fleshed out are different from what I had in mind, albeit in a positive way. Just by changing the perspective, even if it’s the same Academy City and the same characters, it becomes a different kind of fun and can be a very novel experience.
Q13: Seeing this, has your own impression of Mikoto changed?
Kamachi: There should be a great influence on the description of life in Tokiwadai High School and student dormitories. It should have been added to the third and eighth volumes of the Index OT, but everyone has better descriptions! Now I am referring to these.
Q14: Please tell us what you thought of seeing Rina Satou's voice acting.
"Although I like fighting, I am a rich young lady" "I can handle tough battles but I like mascots." I think this is a very complicated and difficult character. I am very grateful to Miss Satou who gave the character life in the form of voice. She is the only one who can play Misaka.
Q15: What makes you think Misaka is one of the most popular characters in the series?
Kamachi : As a supporting character in the novel, I think the fact that I can't predict the future is a chance for me for new ideas. In the first volume of Index, we dug deep into the Magic Side, so some might think that the Magic Side might be a problem for her development. There may be people who also want to know the Science Side. Then A Certain Scientific Railgun and its anime came out, so she got the in-depth look of a character as the main protagonist.
Q16: Tell us about the best animated scene from the Railgun Series for you
Kamachi: It should be the climax of Railgun season 1. A whole section was formed there, and it felt like a separate worldview of the Railgun was formed. ...At the beginning, I actually proposed to combine such a large-scale event into a comic book volume. I was really sorry for saying that it was not easy.
Q17: What do you think is the most famous line of Misaka Mikoto?
Kamachi: From Railgun "From time to time, the strongest, coldest character pops up." I think all the words in this part are true. I liked the part from the battle with Frenda during the second season of Railgun.
Q18: Tell us what you think of the new volume, which will be selling in July, and the point of view of Misaka Mikoto.
Kamachi: If you're interested in Misaka Mikoto and Shokuhuou Misaki, the two characters who appear in Railgun, be sure to look out for them. Because this time, we are going for simple and intense conflict for this volume.
Q19: To the magnificent story of Index, about Mikoto’s future, have you thought about the final ending for her?
Kamachi: It’s a rough decision, because it’s a heroine that started out in a supporting role, that’s also why I also want to take the advantage of this freedom to express myself. Even if it’s beyond an author’s expectation, and finally she became a significant character from the original intended plan. I think this is also the style of Misaka Mikoto's character.
Q20: Last but not least, a word to the fans of Raildex?
Kamachi: Magic and Science, adults and children, the alleys and a school for rich young ladies. If there's a part of this expansive world that interests you, then that's great. The same is with Misaka Mikoto, her charm will change depending on where she stands, so I hope you all can enjoy it as much as possible.
Js06 Version
Here's some highlights from the recent Kamachi interview about Mikoto.
Kamachi says he wanted to make sure he gave Mikoto a “simple but pretty” name since he has a tendency to give characters weird names.
(He compared this to the Kamijou = One who Purifies God thing, so he might mean that Mikoto can also be a Shinto honorific for gods, but I don't actually know.)
He came up with her Railgun power because he wanted something that felt close to home for readers, so he went with electricity due to the static electricity people experience in everyday life. He also didn’t want to use fire since Stiyl already covered that in OT1.
He created Mikoto as a minor character solely meant to give exposition about Academy City and espers, so he never expected her to be such an important part of the story. He thinks that is why he sees her as not bound by the events of the main story so much as other characters.
He says Mikoto gained her excellent athletic abilities through street fighting since she doesn’t go to the gym or play any sports.
He says Mikoto started at Level 0 in 1st grade and started getting stronger a little faster than the other kids and then that growth just kept going until she was Level 5. He notes that this is a contrast to Misaki who started at a higher level.
He notes that one’s figure is a combination of genetics and environment, so he says Mikoto might have ended up with a figure like Misuzu's if she lived at home and ate the same food as Misuzu. But since she lives away from home, he implies she might not be so lucky.
He says Mikoto uses arcade coins for her Railgun because she likes arcade games despite being bad at them.
He says he decided on short hair for Mikoto because he had already given Index long hair.
He says the Railgun manga and anime fleshed out Tokiwadai so much from what he had written in OT3 and 8 that he now uses a lot of that information to inform what he writes about Tokiwadai.
He says he couldn’t imagine anyone other than Satou Rina as Mikoto’s voice.
He says he thinks Mikoto got so popular because she was a minor character and thus you never knew what was going to happen with her. He notes that in those early volumes, it was possible she would just never appear again and that may have made people want to root for her.
He also thinks OT1’s focus on magic made people more curious about the science side since it wasn’t explored as much. And then of course she was given more depth as an MC in Railgun.
He says he initially suggested that each Railgun arc could fit in a single manga volume and that he now feels silly for thinking that was possible.
He says he has a vague idea where Mikoto’s story will end, but that he’s going to leave his options more open with her since she started out as a minor character before being upgraded to heroine status later on.
This Section was Translated by u/BR123456
There's a section for the seiyuus to express their love for Mikoto [pg 15-16].
Q1. The first question asks them to list 3 charming qualities about her. Kuroko's VA is pretty thirsty for Misaka's VA & Misaka. Misaki's VA loves the 'Geh' Misaka gives when meeting Misaki specifically.
Q2. The second question asks them for their favourite scene with Misaka. Again Kuroko's VA goes for the thirstiest possible thing ie Railgun Season 1 Episode 2's swimming pool scene.
Q3 What is the appeal of the Toaru series?
Q4. The fourth question asks if they were Misaka's stylist what outfit would they choose for her. Kuroko's VA wants a sailor uniform, specifically Sakugawa's because the belly button is visible on Saten. Misaka's VA wants that childish swimsuit she wore in that episode. Misaki's VA loves the suit she wore.
(The others gave pretty predictable answers. I'm just really amused by just how much Satomi Arai has embodied her character to this degree. She sure is dedicated.)
The above interview is actually just with Kamachi (20 secrets about Misaka Mikoto). There is another separate interview with Fuyukawa Motoi that's another 10 questions long [pg 17]. I like how much he focuses on nailing the character expressions - it's definitely a huge strength of the manga where the anime adaption couldn't compete.
Fuyukawa's top 3 Misaka scenes: [pg 18]
  1. Sisters scene during Accel's fight
  2. "Because I trust that you'd protect my mama, Kuroko"
  3. Grabbing Misaki' oppai
7 qualities about Misaka to grab your heart (?): [pg 19-22]
  1. Tsundere
  2. Friendship
  3. Relationship with Sisters
  4. Railgun
  5. Onee-sama
  6. Her closet outside of the uniform (whoever wrote drew a bunch of hearts for this lol, get the hint already Tokiwadai)
  7. Gekota
They gave a timeline (mix of Index & Railgun anime) specifically for Kamikoto scenes lol [pg 23-24]. And a whole bunch of quotes from Misaka overlayed over the relevant scenes which is pretty cool [pg 29-32].

Introduction

A deadly charlatan who roams the street of Noxus, Cleon the Sinister Guile, is an Artillery Mage who brings his friends from the other side to do his dirty work, tearing up the Mid Lane with ease.
In game, Cleon is an excellent wave pusher with all of his abilities being AOE, though most of his damage output comes from linear abilities. Though Cleon seems intimidating with his oppressive kit, his long cooldowns force him to methodically plan out his combos. Even though he is classified as an Artillery Mage, Cleon excels more in the midrange, but lacks the mobility or tankiness to support his range. One small mistake could be all the difference, resulting in a close-combat trade that Cleon will surely lose from.

Contest Challenge

September 2020 - " champion that can apply Brittle**":** Cleon's Q and go-to ability, Rend Asunder, applies Brittle to Enemy Champions that are caught in the middle of the ability.
The Brittle is vital to Cleon's kit because even though his other two abilities apply a form of Crowd Control, one is a weak slow while the other is a very situational Root that requires the enemy to already be under the effects of CC, so applying Brittle on your opponents will make it easier to land Cleon's combos.

Champion Description & Personality

Description
Cleon is heavily inspired by the character Ludwig from Epic Seven. With Cleon, I wanted to add a "smug child" character dynamic in League. The catch, however, is that Cleon isn't actually a young boy. In reality, Cleon is a demon who takes on the appearance of a boy, but with the voice of a smug, older villain.
In terms of age, I wanted Cleon to be older than Nunu, but younger than Ekko (so probably 12 or 13 years old?). League doesn't have a preteen Champion if I recall correctly, so Cleon should definitely stand out from the rest of the lolis.
Using Ludwig as the foundation, the thing that really sets Cleon apart from his inspiration is his outfit and demonic arsenal.
The goal with Cleon's appearance is to make him look like a con man, who is disguised as a boy to trick people. So I wanted Cleon to look innocent, but also suspicious.
Firstly, Cleon would have a more slicked back, silver hair, unlike Ludwig's boyish hairstyle. Although his eyes appear baby blue most of the time, whenever Cleon uses and ability (or when he starts to try), he eyes turn into a sharp red color.
Like Ludwig, Cleon dons a suit, but Cleon has more of a "con man" aesthetic to him. Cleon's suit would be a crimson Black suit (black, but at single angles there's a crimson glare) with red trimmings on the edges. With the suit is a red shirt underneath and a black tie to complete the black and red look. Although his suit could be a dead giveaway to his demonic ties, in the lore he roams the streets of Noxus, so having a red motif to his suit wouldn't be the oddest thing there.
Lastly, Cleon rarely lifts his hand. This is a man who is proud to play dirty, and he does so by summoning the hands of demons to do his dirty work for him. Even when Cleon has to move a muscle, he only does so to send forth another demon to fight for him.
Ability Colors and Basic Attacks
That being said, what really cements Cleon's unique silhouette are the two demonic "arms" that cover Cleon. Cleon has a passive that enhances his basic attack, giving him a giant demonic arm that hovers next to one of his arms. The passive has a max of two stacks, one for each hand.
It's hard describing it, but imaging something like this. Instead of the golem hands, imagine demonic hands instead. These hands are actually a fragment of Cleon's real power and as such, isn't a complete arm but has more of a shrouded, ghostly look to it.
All of Cleon's abilities involve opening portals to summon demon hands or sprouting demonic hands from the ground, and because of his demonic origin, all of his abilities have a red hue and essentially looks similar to Swain and Fiddlesticks' abilities.
All of Cleon's attacks, even his Basic Attack, involve as little movement as possible. To portray this, Cleon snaps whenever he attacks. When basic attacking, Cleon snaps and a projectile emits from his fingers. The same goes for his abilities, though sometimes he will wave his hand to direct the demons. With his enhanced Basic Attack, Cleon swipes his arm, sending out the shadowy arm to reach over to the target and swiping at them to cleave.
Cleon's color scheme is a simple Black and Red.
Gender: Male
Species: Demon
Age: Unknown
Faction: Demon (resides in Noxus)
Height: 4'8"
Personality
Cleon, like Evelynn and Tahm Kench, feast on human souls that exhibit a specified type of sin. Whereas Evelynn hungers for the lust in humans and Tahm for the greed of man, Cleon preys on the pride of man; and to do so, he challenges and utterly humiliates a person to sweeten the flavor.
Cleon is very smug, like ASol, but the difference is that ASol smugness comes off more as a Parent toying with a Child, whereas Cleon is a vicious kind of smug. Asol you can respect his smugness, but Cleon just makes you want to slap his face, not that you could.
Cleon is proud to play dirty and even relishes in using underhanded tactics. It's not enough that Cleon is one of the stronger demons, it's that he wants to bait his opponents into letting down their guard. He is also sadistic enough to laugh at a person when they finally learn about the difference in their power. The more hopeless the situation Cleon has put them, the more excited he gets. Cleon doesn't like fighting fair, he loves to hustle.

Abilities

P: UNDERHANDED DISPLAY || DAMAGE: Low | RANGE: Same as Basic Attack
INNATE: Each time Cleon successfully lands a Basic Ability on an Enemy Champion, he gains a stack (Max 2) of Underhanded Display, altering his next Basic Attack to send forth a Shadow Arm to swipe an enemy unit, dealing Magic Damage and Cleaving nearby enemy units.
Q: REND ASUNDER || DAMAGE: Medium | DAMAGE (CENTER): High | COOLDOWN: 10/9/8/7/6 | RANGE: 850
ACTIVE: Cleon summons large demonic hands that both emerge from the ground 200 units perpendicular from the target location. After a brief delay, the hands reach towards the center in between them and pull away from each other, dealing Magic Damage to all enemies between the hands.
Enemies caught in the center of the area are dealt additional Magic Damage and are applied Brittle.
\The shape of the ability is best described as being similar to Malzahar's Call of the Void, except the damage hitbox comes from the center and travels outward, rather than hitting enemies immediately in the area..*
W: SOUL SEIZE || DAMAGE: Medium | COOLDOWN: 16/15/14/13/12 | RANGE: 800
ACTIVE: Cleon summons a giant demon hand to partially emerge from the ground in the targeted area with only its fingertips showing. After a delay the hand fully emerges and clasps onto the area before sinking back down, dealing Magic Damage to all enemies in the area.
If an Enemy Champion was in the area, then Cleon recovers a portion of the damage as health.
If an Enemy Champion in the area was under the effects of an immobilizing Crowd Control, they become Rooted.
\The shape of the ability is similar to Thresh's The Box, although a bit smaller.*
E: ENCROACH || DAMAGE: Low | COOLDOWN: 10 | RANGE: 850 | EXTENDED RANGE: +350
ACTIVE: Cleon sends forth a wave of demon arms that emerge from the ground, dealing Magic Damage and Slowing all enemies in a line.
If Encroach kills an enemy unit during its travel, the ability travels at a faster speed and the duration of the trajectory is extended.
R: OVERWHELMING VICTORY || DAMAGE: Medium | COOLDOWN: 100/80/60 | TARGET RANGE: 700 | RANGE OF FIST: 650 | WIDTH OF FIST: 200
ACTIVE: Cleon opens a portal to summon a gigantic demon's fist to emerge and punch towards the targeted direction, dealing Magic Damage to all enemies in a line.
Overwhelming Victory can be recasted within 3 seconds for a maximum of two times, but will consume one stack of Underhanded Victory for each time the ability is recasted.
\The targeting of the ability and how it is casted is similar to Viktor's Death Ray and Rumble's The Equalizer.*
\I based the size off of Aatrox's The Darkin Blade and I could be wrong with the approximation of the size of the fist above, so take it with a grain of salt. Aatrox's first cast of The Darkin Blade is labeled as 625 x 180*

Gameplay

LANE PHASE
During the laning phase, Cleon's main objective is to push and deny the opponent of CS with his overwhelming amount of wave clear. Playing as Cleon, you really want to try to exchange blows from afar, especially if you can land Rend Asunder with the enemy Champion at the center, allowing you to increase your slow from Encroach to make landing Soul Seize easier.
If the opponent is deciding to play it safe by farming at turret or outside your range, you can sneak an Encroach on them by softening the minion wave with Rend Asunder or Soul Seize so that when Encroach kills a a minion, the travel path and speed are increased, successfully sneaking up on your opponent.
Also, Cleon's kit is fantastic for setting up kills for your Jungler, especially if they have a form of Crowd Control on them. Landing Soul Seize after slowing your opponent with Encroach should basically guarantee a kill for you and your Jungler, but you can also save Soul Seize if you know your Jungler has some hard CC, Rooted your opponent afterwards with Soul Seize.
Cleon becomes a massive threat once he reaches Level 6 because he will now have a definite way of finishing fights. Cleon's basic abilities are meant to annoy and farm, and lack consistent damage to one-shot an enemy champion. Pre-Level 6 your plan is to whittle them down slowly, but once you reach level 6, you can finish them off with Overwhelming Victory, especially if you have two stacks of Underhanded Display ready.
Due to his long cooldowns, you definitely don't want to be spamming your combos when you have the chance since you don't have any form of escape. Try to space out your abilities and play passively. Using Rend Asunder followed by the cleave from Underhanded Display should be enough when laning.
TEAM FIGHTS
Much like how he fights in lane, Cleon wants his teamfights to get down in the mud for him. As such, you definitely want to stay in the backlane and whittle the opponent down. In lane, landing Soul Seize would be a challenge, but in a teamfight you're almost guaranteed a root. Focus on cycling through your basic abilities and surviving throughout the teamfight so that you can clean up any low health champions with Overwhelming Victory.
COMBOS
MINION WAVE CLEAR: W → eAA → Q → eAA
BASIC ENGAGE COMBO: Q → eAA → E → W → eAA → eAA
DISENGAGE COMBO: E → Q → W
MAXIMUM DAMAGE COMBO: Q → eAA → E → W → R → R → R

BIO

"In the streets of Noxus there is a rumor of a kid who lulls people into a false sense of security, waging a friendly bet with a reward so tempting that no man would say no to. Whether it be money, fame, or power, somehow this kid has what you want. He stalks the bars and watches the citizens engage in some friendly banter and betting. He waits patiently, waiting for your ego to build from a night of collecting bets. You're riding that high and the kid knows it. When all is said and done and your lads call it night from losing too much of their coin, that's when he approaches you.
He awes at your coin and butters you up with sweet talk, praising you and going as far as to idolize you. He says he wants to learn from the best, from the strongest, and that's when he sets the trap by issuing you a simply challenge.
Whether it be an arm wrestling match or even a drinking game, the challenge will always seem easy and the kid is sweet, so you accept, but soon enough you realize that innocent face was just a facade when you're beaten with ease. You can walk away from losing, but this kid wants you to know how little you are. He really wants to see the sweat drop from your face, and the smirk on his face hurts more than a million knives to the back. You try to walk away, take your losses, but your pride just won't let you. You want a rematch.
To your surprise, his new challenge is easier than the last, but that starts to gnaw at you in the head. You start to overthink, over-analyze the situation you've been put in by your own hubris. You think you're going to come out ahead, but at the very last second the kid pulls through. He starts to mock you, as if he wanted you to think you were going to win. At this point, you let you pride take over all of your decision making and you issue your own challenge, a challenge in which you have the clear advantage. He accepts, but he wants something else from you now. With an ominous tone, the boy simply asks that should he win, you owe him a helping hand. You don't care, you just want to put this kid in his place, so you agree.
Hook, line, and sinker.
The kid shows his true colors as his eyes turn from a baby blue to a bloody red. It doesn't matter what the challenge is, you made the contract and now there's noting holding the kid back. From the ground emerge several hands that look straight out of hell, and he uses them to his full advantage, utterly demolishing whatever challenge you made with him, almost to an absurd fashion. As you fall back, shooken at the ghastly image that lay before you, the kid simply walks towards you with his hand out and utters the words:
"Now won't you lend me a helping hand."
He skips the murky streets of Noxus, always looking for a new challenger...
TL;DR
Cleon is a demon who preys on the pride of man, much like Evelynn and Tahm Kench. He purposely takes on the appearance of a little boy to lull his opponent into a false sense of security. Cleon patiently waits for his prey to build up their ego issuing his challenge, always making the next challenge easier and mocking his opponent to ensure that they fall for his tricks.
When they're at the point where their pride has taken over all their decision making, that's when Cleon strikes up the contract; and when they say yes, there will be nothing holding Cleon back...

SPLASH ART

Default Cleon
Default Cleon's splash art takes place at a near empty Noxian bar, late into the night. It is there where we can see Cleon engaging in another activity of challenging warriors only to break down their pride, this time the challenge being a simple game of arm wrestling.
The splash is from the point of view of the person Cleon has challenged. The person and Cleon are rested at a table, with both hands locked into place. You can only see the challenger's arm locked in with Cleon, but in the background you can see that the bar is near empty and it the night sky from the window is almost pitch black. At the table you can see, next to the two arms, a large sum of gold coins indicating that the gold is the victor's prize.
Here's the kicker: by the tension of the arm and the popped veins you can tell the challenger is struggling, but one look at Cleon and you can already tell that the game is about to be over. While arm wrestling, Cleon is resting his head on his other arm, tilted and smirking at the challenger. What's worse, Cleon's glare has a blood red color to his eyes, signifying that he's using his demonic abilities.
Finally, you can see that covering his wrestling arm is a dense, shadowy arm, telling the viewer that Cleon is clearly cheating and perhaps the challenger figured it out too, but he knows it's far too late for him to back out now.
This splash art focuses on what I believe are Cleon's biggest features: his love for issuing challenges, the way and time at which he does so, his dependence on demon magic and arms, and his total smugness.
Skin Ideas
Infernal Cleon: Like the other Infernal skins, Cleon becomes an Ifrit, a being of pure fire. All of his abilities would be the same, but have a fire aesthetic to them.
Guardian of the Sands Cleon: This is essentially Pharaoh Cleon, but since it seems like Riot retired Pharaoh skins for pure Shuriman skins, we're going with guardian of the sands. Cleon would still look like a young pharaoh, but with more of the Shuriman aesthetic. His abilities would summon mummified hands and withered hands from the ground. His passive would conjure floating wraps that form the shape of an arm.
Harrowing Cleon: For the Harrowing, Cleon takes on the appearance of a puppet boy in a suit, similar to the titular character The Boy. I'm still not sure if Cleon's abilities would summon skeleton hands or puppet hands. Probably the latter...

RECALL: Cleon summons a giant hand to sprout from underneath him and he sits on the hand like a throne. He rests his hand on his arm like so before waving goodbye with his other hand.

MISCELLANEOUS

Once again, thank you so much for reading this far! I had a lot of fun with Cleon, especially with the Bio and Quotes. Also, anyone remember when Pusher was a class in League? As always, let me know what you think of the concept! Happy creating!

This TRULY made me happy and I hope this also makes you happy too!

So,
Last week I was on holiday with my mother and my cousin to the famous English place, Skegness! So during my stay in Ingoldmells just on the edge of Skeg, my cousin and I decided to go and play at the arcades as my mother didn't feel too well and wanted to stay inside.
So as we went, my cousin and I parted and I went to a 2P Pusher to play for something sparkly for my mother! As a few moments pass I run out of coins and just as I did my cousin came over, I gave him a pound coin and he went off to get me more.
Whilst I was waiting, I noticed a young girl say around 5? she was playing on a machine a small way from me. This young girl looked at me, leaned back looked at my tray to see no coins, I just assumed she wanted to see what I was playing for.
I didn't take too much notice myself until I notice her standing next to me holding out HER coins! This little girl! thought I didn't have any more coins so she offered me hers! I look down and I had the BIGGEST smile on my face and it was the sweetest moment. I knelt down a little to her level and I said.
"Hey! I'm okay, you should keep your pennies for yourself to win a prize! what are you trying to win?" I asked her. This young girl just smiled so brightly and she pointed to the small alien things in the plastic egg thing. So I said to her "Oh wow! that looks so fun! keep all your pennies and win that alien!"
I went back to my machine and my cousin turned up with a few bags of coins. So I take the bags and I lean over to the young girl and ask her where her mummy was. She pointed her out and I just went and found this young girl's mother. Coming up to her I smile.
"Hey, so your daughter, is the sweetest little angel! she wanted to give me some coins because she thought I didn't have any, so she can have these coins, and I just wanted to tell you what an amazing little star your daughter is, so kind!"
The smile on the mother's face was priceless and her older sister smiled too and hugged her little sister. The mother replied "Oh wow, thank you! So much!" and she bent down to her daughter and gave her the coins and I just couldn't help but smile! But that's not the end of it!
So a little later on I saw she had used all of the coins and she wandered off back to her mother, so I went to the machine and started playing on it, after a moment she came and started to play on the machine I was first using. I eventually won an alien and it took a few to get it but I did! So I grabbed the toy and saw the younger girl and bent down with it.
"Look what I managed to get for you!" the smile on her face as she gently took the toy was the best! So after that, I walked back off with my cousin to play on this other game and then the little girl bounded up to me and she said.
"Excuse me... I uh, I tried winning you what you were after but I couldn't but it's really on the edge now so you can get it!"
At this point, I nearly cried! I didn't have the heart to tell her I just used my last pound. So I told her to thank you and she was a very sweet young lady and she then ran off to her mother and I just looked at my cousin trying not to cry with how amazingly sweet this young girl was!
I even texted my mother what happened and it is by far one of the most heartwarming and wholesome thing I have ever been apart of and to that little girl, you deserve the world and you deserve all the happiness too!
Thank you for reading and I TRULY hope this made you smile and warm just as it made me feel happy and warm!

Brawl Stars- A Dilemma

I've been playing this game since global release, and it's been a really fun experience, but as I have climbed fairly high in ladder, the game has lost its appeal. Don't get me wrong, it's still fun, but there's not really an endgame anymore, just grind, reset, repeat. Problem #1: Currency: I like the currency system, with power points and coins to make your brawlers stronger, and gems for cosmetics and other currencies. But the other currencies and the experience do nothing. Star points, when first introduced I thought, were a great addition. But they quickly turned into a worthless compensation for the trophy reset. Yeah, you can buy some skins and boxes, but the boxes are only available once every 2 weeks or so. And it's only a big box and mega box, until recently they added two mega boxes extra, which I think is a good start to making Star Points actually worth it. The devs literally came up with a game mode specifically for gaining Star Points, and they are, in my opinion, the second worst currency-type in the game. To increase the value of Star Points, I suggest adding deals in the shop (some other user posted an idea of this, I forgot who it was). It was an exchange of currency, coins to power points. I think it could be changed into Star Points to Power Points. This would grant a new way to gain upgrades for Brawlers early on. I also suggest making the Star point deals to boxes permanent. Each day, a big box and a mega box would be available in the shop for 500 and 1500 Star Points. The 2 mega boxes for 3000 points would be removed. This would provide an extremely good value for Star Points, as well as encouraging players to push trophies more and also take Power Play seriously. Another addition to Star Points would be gems. 50,000 star points would be enough to buy 90 gems once every Trophy Season reset. This would replace the Star Points to boxes deal. It would also be enough to buy the Brawl Pass every two weeks, a great reward for hard pushers. With Star Points getting a buff, there should be another way to collect Star Points, and that is Experience Milestones. The Experience currency value currently does absolutely nothing, except granting P2W players deals at certain milestones, and telling players that they have a high loss to win ratio. I think Star Points should be added at certain milestones for experience. For example, Level 50 would grant 500 Star Points. Level 100 would grant 1000 Star Points, and so on, until the player reaches Level 500, where 50,000 Star Points would be granted for finishing all the milestones. So this is pretty much it in the Currency section of this article Problem #2: Repetitiveness: This game is getting really repetitive, as I mentioned earlier. Daily gameplay is just: Finish quests. Push trophies. Repeat. Seasonly gameplay is just: Grind trophies. Earn tokens. Open boxes. Get Star Points and lose trophies. Repeat. See the pattern? There is no endgame goal for players. At the start of the Brawl Pass season, it's fairly fun. It doesn't take too long to get each milestone on the Brawl Road, and it's even better with the Brawl Pass, getting 2 mega boxes every 10 tiers, and even skins and a new Chromatic brawler. But it's very repetitive when you've finished the actual Road. All you get is do quests for Brawlers that you don't like, and get a Big Box every two days or so. There should be a replacement for this. An idea that I got from another person that I forgot would be a wheel or spinner, that you get every 300 tokens. You would spin it and get a certain amount of coins, power points, or boxes. It would bring a fun and sometimes rewarding factor into play. But, of course, some people complain about the RNG. Another idea is reducing the big boxes from 500 tokens to 300 tokens. I know what you're thinking, quests give you an additional 100 tokens a day. But, progression is much slower, as you don't just get a normie box every time you finish a quest. You wait a day and THEN you get 100 coins or so. So these are my options for this. For the seasonal repetitiveness, I would suggest getting 1/4 COIN compensation as well. As you can now buy silver and gold skins, a good reward would be in store for pushers. Problem #3: Meta: The current state of the game is fairly balanced, but the community does not make it look that way. Everyone, in some way, needs a buff or a nerf. The real problem is that some brawlers require no skill at all (Jacky, Rosa, Bea, etc) while others are at a really high skill cap (Mortis, Dyna, etc). High skill cap brawlers are super good in high trophy battles (800+) while they stink while bad players are playing them. Another issue for the community is that they think everyone needs to be viable in everything. Take Mortis for example. He's good in Bounty and Gem Grab, along with 800+ Brawl Ball (let's not argue this point though). He's bad in Heist. People want him to be good in Heist. If you give him a damage or reload buff, he'll be S Tier in everything. Devs don't want that. He's balanced enough as it is. The community needs to stop being super picky about this meta. Sorry if this wasn't a problem for the actual game but still. A solution for the community getting a voice though, is a certain trophy range being able to take an in-game survey for Brawler buffs and nerfs. Say, the top 500 players would be enough, and they wouldn't sacrifice in-game play for a troll saying that Bea needs a buff. Problem #4: Beginning: We hardly ever see any new players that stay for long. Why? It's because they do not know how to play. Something showing how to attack and move and a basic mechanic of each game mode doesn't actually show how to play the game. A simple Almanac for Brawlers that show mechanics and how to use them correctly would be greatly beneficial, along with an in-depth tutorial on currency and upgrading Brawlers. For example for Colt: Colt is a Sharpshooter who can shred enemies with his bullets! He deals a great amount of damage, and his range is really long, making him able to shoot enemies from afar. His best game modes are those where the objective is to deal tons of damage. His best maps are those with a lot of open space. In-depth tutorial option: These are called bushes. You can go in this, making yourself invisible to enemies. These are walls, they can block attacks, but some Brawlers can shoot over them! Some Super attacks can destroy walls, allowing you to shoot through them Game Economy tutorial: There are three main currencies in this game, tokens, coins and power points. Tokens can be used to go through tiers in the Brawl Pass, allowing you to open boxes and unlock other exclusive items! Coins can be used to upgrade Brawlers. This makes their health and damage increase. At Level 7, you can unlock the ability to get Gadgets! They are special abilities unique to your Brawler! At Level 9, you can unlock the ability to get Star Powers! They can enhance the abilities of your Brawler! But what do you need to upgrade them? Power Points! Every brawler needs power points to be able to upgrade. You can get power points for a brawler through boxes!
So yeah, these are some problems and suggestions, thanks for reading through this blocky article and clicking on the clickbait title! Thanks!

Oh, she simply had to have him! His quick wit and how he switched from aristocratic parlance one second to plebeian filth the next was so quaint! Along with his elf attendant, it made for a giddy little performance. His novel toys were intriguing, but she would doubtless learn of all their inner workings in time. There was nothing a human could do that an elf could not and better.
She would play along until he revealed all his secrets, then like all humans, he would simply pass with time. His secrets and toys would then be hers; mortals knew how to bet with everything but their minuscule lives, after all. Sepha would have to thank Brother Virion for this little bit of fun. First was the bow, then came the black ball and its vision glass. And second to last, the red mind elixirs preempting the main event.
Even if decrying the title of performers, they assuredly presented themselves as such. Jon, the human man, finished his little speech directing their attentions to the final parlour trick. Sepha inwardly lamented that the day’s entertainment would shortly be over and then… the world fell out from under her feet, along with her jaw.
The unobscured interior beyond the ring disappeared. The wooden panel of the council chamber was gone, replaced by another room. She saw a wall a few feet beyond, not of wood or stone but something… else. The matte material was an unadorned white with gilded metal trimming in places. Golden light streamed in from the right side.
“What by the gods is that?!” she demanded and stood.
Jon and Luren-sun ignored her and stepped through it, into the place beyond. The council table impeded Sepha’s approach, and by the time they reached the ring, Jon replied. “Bye!” A singsong send-off and they were gone. The ring flickered back to empty, their guests nowhere to be seen.
“Search the room!” Faelyn and Nym sprung into action inspecting the area but to no avail. A minute more and the ring shifted back silently; Jon’s laughter was the first indication.
“I’m kidding! I’m kidding! Kay see, they’re fine.”
Sepha stood before the ring, observing the couple on the other side. She strode to the back of the circular doorway and was met with a similar unadorned cream white wall. They are in a magic wall that appeared from nowhere. She touched it, a kind of textured lacquer perhaps.
“Both sides are active, but the ring here is up against the hull. You can’t go through that way, I’m afraid. Not dangerous or anything, it’s just, you know, a wall. They’re super effective!”
Sepha returned to the side they were on… in? Perhaps those elixirs were not superfluous after all; this was utter madness! Luren-sun was disparaging Jon for his frightful jest, but the disappearance did affirm his sorcery in a way that persistence might not. Her mind raced to fathom the trick. They were within the ring, but what was within was not without. They are there, but there is not here, not beyond us, not the chambers.
“Pray tell, where are you?”
“Well, we could be anywhere really, but at the moment we are in about the same place just higher up. You wanna see?” He beckoned as if they were amicable peers, leaning casually against that same white wall.
Her men forged ahead. Stepping through, they looked about with a phlegmatic disposition, assessing danger. Even their steely eyes enlarged at what they saw, turning back, they nodded, but hands never left their hilts.
Curiosity overcame caution, and she stepped through the portal, turning right toward the illumination. Wondrously bright rays blazed through polished crystal glass panels. Such light was uncharacteristic for Elgelica, usually overcast.
A man-sized circular glass window was cut into the floor. She knew of no glass blower bold or stupid enough to make such an outrageous thing. Jon walked over to stand centred on it. He jumped up and down on the transparent floor, ostensibly reading her thoughts. Sure and sturdy as stone, clear as water, no clearer. Miraculous. Peering beyond his feet and Sepha looked down upon a carpet of clouds many miles below.
“So, you know those rumours about a new ‘beast’ spotted in the skies around Elgelica? We’re probably to blame for that. Surprise!” He waved his hands in foe mockery.
The clouds parted for a moment, and Sepha’s sharp vision spotted the Elven forest below, a glint of green from the spire’s glass mural flickered briefly before the white mottled tapestry reclaimed the view. She barely noticed as her knees gave out. Many minutes later she was shaken from the mesmerising sight.
Faelyn’s concerned features obscured her view; the steadfast man had broken the spell bringing her faculties once more to the fore.
Nym, to her surprise, hid in a corner as far from any windows as possible, his back firmly planted against the peculiar structure.
Jon and Luren-sun sat nonchalantly off to the side in strangely upholstered chairs. They waited patiently looking through the windows or fiddling with this and that.
She got to her feet and shakily and edged to a seat opposing them. Losing composure as she had was a weighty misstep. Weakness was never to be shown; least of all to these louts.
“Good, you’re back.” He showed no indication of either pity or bemusement, merely giving her his attention with pure equanimity. She abhorred it because there was nothing to hate. Such aplomb, in a human no less, made her fume. He knew she could not hold her tongue for long, so he waited.
“This is a ship;” she clipped the words, “one that sails through the sky.”
“That it is! Welcome to the HAS, it’s an airship. Funnily enough, the name still applies. I’m sure the logistics of air travel is something you find enticing! Combine that with the rift that got us here, and there is no place we cannot be. My people can, and will, come and go as they please. The only remaining question is where the main thoroughfares will be.”
The ramifications were distressing, to say the least, provided this was not some fitful nightmare. Walls and armies would be nothing but ‘entertaining exhibits’ between destinations. When envisioning usage of such artefacts in warfare directly, the impotence of Elgelica terrified her. What would firebombs from this height do to the trees? Could they douse them in time?
“Our Griffon Riders could reach your ship and strike you down.” She had never ridden one herself, but Elgelica was not without air defence.
“You have griffons! That is so fucking cool! I gotta see one!” His face transformed into an ingenuous child’s, quickly replaced by calculating dispassion. This man vexed her deeply. “Tactically they are a no go though. We’re six kilometres up, the air outside is unbreathable. Even if your griffons could fly this high, which I doubt, the riders most certainly cannot. Plus, we’re not defenceless either, and we have the high ground all the way up. I get it. You’re angling for military superiority; vulnerably is not a nice feeling. You can relax, no one wants to invade you.”
“What do you want, then?”
He paused, retrieving a gold coin, flicking it a few times in the air. “Do you spend much time with games of chance, Sepha?” His dropping of titles irked her further.
“Not particularly, with enough knowledge and skill, there is no need to roll the dice.”
“And yet, here we are,” he said gazing down, unfathomable concern writ on his features. Was it for her? No, something deeper. A cavernous abyss of visions clouded those features. “Catch.” He flipped the coin toward her and Faelyn intercepted, seizing and inspecting it. Satisfied, he bowed and presented it to her.
Expecting Elgelican gold, she stared into a delicately carved, nay forged, art piece on one ounce. The craft was so fine it was better than any jewellery she had laid eyes on.
“It’s a Kruger Rand from my hometown. They don’t make ’em anymore. With the return of the gold standard and Alpha instituting worlds-wide standardisation, it’s no longer legal tender. Whatever comes of this, it is yours. Probably the most information you’ll ever learn about me, and you know why that is Ms Shalen?”
Perhaps he was a spy, his past hidden by powers beyond her ken.
“Because I am unimportant.”
That stopped her short.
“I am not Ozymandias, king of kings. I have no mighty works. I’m inconsequential, irrelevant — a grain of sand in time. I will not be forgotten coz there’s nothing to remember. I’m nobody. All that matters of me is the chance I give you. One flip of the coin.” He retrieved another gold piece and spun it in the air as he found her eyes.
A grain of sand that knew its place. Lounging above the firmament, the man spoke thus, and she had never felt more despair. “Who am I then, oh ‘wise’ sage?” The mockery was more to still her nerves than anything else.
Built-up tension broke like chalk and Jon waxed jovial once more. “You are someone. Or at least you think you are, and the world does too. But I don’t do this for you or the other someones you may soon meet. I do this for the million nobodies in your care. They deserve the chance, but you flip the coin. So do it.”
She looked down at the coin and felt her nerves strain. “I can’t because,” her voice rose rapidly in exasperation. “I DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU WANT!”
“Wait, what? Shit. Did I just fucken monologue for like a minute and not even answer your question? Kay, you gotta stop me when I do shit like that.”
“It was a fairly good monologue, Master. Do I get a ‘Crewga Rand’ too.”
“Yeah sure, I got a shit-ton. The gold content is still good, after all.” He flipped Luren the coin, and she caught it, inspecting the gold piece and smiling.
“Somebody, for the love of the Gods, answer my damned question!” Sepha stood now, nerves and fear gone at the inanity of these two imbeciles.
“Right,” Jon pulled a crumpled piece of parchment from a pocket. It was her invitation she realised; he read from the back of it. “We would like to purchase land in Elgelica. Anywhere is fine, really. Abandoned farm lot or something of similar size, out on the periphery maybe. I d’know.
“Next, access to your libraries and/or schools. I know that can be sensitive, so I leave it to your discretion. Going to Hogwarts would be super sick tho.
“Finally, willingness to come to the table when the real pencil pushers come from my world. And man, will they love talking to you. I’m not sure if you can tell, but this negotiation crap isn’t really my strong suit.”
Yes, I can verily tell. “Let me see that parchment.” She strutted over and snatched it from his hands. Then, she returned to slump in the opposing chairs that were rather comfortable she realised. “The thickness of these strokes is gigantic, what did you use, your thumb?”
“I’ll be honest ballpoint pens don’t work well on parchment, so I used a felt tip marker.”
“Did you have to write it skew as well?” She craned her neck to the side in reading it.
“I was just taking notes, no need to be so picky.”
“Do you have any idea how valuable this letter is? A personal invite to meet a member of the Elgelican council and you scrunched it up like a used washcloth.”
“Sheesh,” he put his hands up in placation, “but, I did reuse it. That’s gotta count for something, right?”
“No! No, it does not! What point is there even signing this? It could not possibly pass as a legally binding.”
“Oh, fuck no. The pens and the paperwork come later. Trust me you’ll be grateful I delayed it this much.”
“Let me enunciate this aloud, so I fathom you properly. You come with arcane tools to threaten the nature of trade and warfare, and all you want is to purchase some land, read some books, and a verbal promise?”
“Fuuuck, that was way shorter to say. I should have led with that.”
No, no, no, no, no. This was too much, or was she too inexperienced. No, he was too much. She took it all back; the centuries of her insanity would last much longer than the meagre years it would take for him to inflict it. I should be done right this instant with these buffoons. All the while, peals hysterical laughter welled up within her, and there was no stopping it. She cackled and cried till her breathing was weak and slouched her seat for support. Ludicrous tears gathered at the corners of her eyes. Faelyn produced a handkerchief that she absently took.
Jon spoke this time “So we’re good then?” Showing a thumb pointing up, he glanced about even eyeing Nym for confirmation. “I’m kinda feeling like some cake. You guys want cake? I could order chocolate or strawberry. What’s your fancy?”
“I’d recommend the chocolate, Shalen-sun,” piped in Luren.
“Fine, ‘Chocklit’ it is then.” Well done, Brother Virion, perhaps our fortunes truly can shift with these two.

I wonder how I would react if a portal just appeared in space before me. Sepha's reaction differs from Kay's of course, but they have almost no fictional framework to cling to. We forget how science fiction broadens our minds long before the technology is possible. We entertain philosophical conundrums long before the need in reality arises, and this is a very new phenomenon. Before Jules Vern, the idea of the future being significantly different due to technology was a foreign one.
Kids would grow up doing the same jobs their parents did, with the same tools. Wars and politics would shift things, but the struggle of daily life would not alter much. Change occurred over timescales far longer than human lives.
Complexity building on top of complexity is responsible for the exponential growth we experience nowadays (A corollary to Moore's Law). Presently we barely know if our jobs will even exist in the next 5-10 years, and we're asking questions like 'should we?' instead of 'can we?'. Interesting times.
