SEASON 7 PATCH NOTES

SEASON 7 PATCH NOTES
Season 7 launches November 4th 8 PM PT and it's our biggest season yet for Apex Legends! Join the designers as they discuss all the new stuff coming in Season 7 and breakdown some of the bigger changes coming to Legends and weapons.

NEW LEGEND: HORIZON

https://preview.redd.it/ivd1eablevw51.jpg?width=1456&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3178f2ee5198b8e1955d47513148f02786788561
Meet Horizon! She’s the newest Legend, a brilliant scientist, and a master of gravity manipulation. She has a deep connection to the new arena, and a motivation that will tug at your heartstrings.
Horizon’s custom space suit allows her to fall from great heights and control her movements in the air. Using her custom technology, she can use gravity lifts to give her team a vertical boost, and she can even deploy NEWT (her small robot named after her son, Newton) to drop a micro black hole that pulls opponents into the center for some serious crowd control.

Passive: Spacewalk
Increase air control and reduce fall impacts with Horizon’s custom spacesuit.

Tactical: Gravity Lift
Reverse the flow of gravity, lifting players upward and boosting them outward when they exit.

Ultimate: Black hole
Deploy NEWT to create a micro black hole that sucks in nearby Legends.

NEW MAP: OLYMPUS

https://preview.redd.it/k1jzo6xzevw51.jpg?width=1456&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=411508cb7eb565f40bd3edf5f91bd1e82870ff3d
The Legends have entered a new arena: the sky city of Olympus.
A utopia floating in clouds above Psamathe, it was once a place where the brightest minds in the Outlands could gather and exchange ideas. However, an accident in an experimental research facility led to the creation of the Phase Rift (a massive bubble of Phase energy), and the city was abandoned.
Now players can use Olympus’ luxurious amenities to their advantage. Rotating agricultural towers, beautiful gardens and classy restaurants serve as new stages for intense skirmishes. New vehicles called Tridents give your squad a way to boost into battle and take your enemies by surprise. The Phase Runner – a tunnel of Phase energy running through the center of Olympus – lets you cross the map in seconds. And the Rift stands tall over everything, mysterious and beckoning . . .

NEW VEHICLE: THE TRIDENT

https://preview.redd.it/pr945wq4fvw51.jpg?width=1456&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8fbb3923ac69e48b86f282a2a45f0fdd47ae6739
Exclusive to Olympus, the Trident is a hover car designed for your whole squad.
Cruise the highways to avoid chokepoints or use the boost to soar over jumps, this thing is made to speed up those early game rotations. Drive in third person, or ride as a passenger in first person with full shooting capabilities. The Trident is durable, so it will never explode, but damage applied from enemy fire will be dispersed amongst the players in the car. Don’t worry, you can still do full damage to players by hitting them directly so we expect to see some amazing Kraber shots. Disembark to park it anywhere and use it as makeshift cover in the late game.
The Trident interacts with Legend abilities in many different ways, experiment and have fun!

LTM: OLYMPUS PREVIEW

To help you understand and explore the map without fear of getting shot, we are introducing a new playlist called Olympus Preview. This mode teams you up with 30 Legends on Olympus and allows you to roam the map to learn map drops, loot areas, and practice your routes to the end game. Circles are still on and once circle 4 finishes, players are brought back up to the plane to start the second skydive run. There are a total of 3 runs before the match ends. This mode is only available for one week.

CLUBS

Boot up Steam and start downloading and play Apex Legends! If you’re coming from Origin, all your progress and unlocks will carry over. And for a limited time, log into Steam and receive these Half-Life and Portal inspired weapon charms.

BATTLE PASS

https://preview.redd.it/qpu0ir9gfvw51.jpg?width=1456&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bb7c73c4d5d03db8203b2bb06c63dd58903b9b46
The Season 7 Battle Pass is all about that high fashion. Level up your Pass to unlock the skins like the Wraith “High Class” and Octane’s “Fast Fashion”.

https://preview.redd.it/qbut36bhfvw51.jpg?width=1456&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53964f36a242e6c8b75630ac97ca029266114fc9
Challenges are no longer points-based and are now granted between 1 to 5 stars, depending on their difficulty. Collecting 10 stars will take you to the next Battle Pass level. We have also added tabs to the challenges menu in the lobby that allow you to toggle between daily, top weekly, and event challenges. Within a match, players can open the map and see this same widget in game.

For more on the changes to Challenges, check out this dev blog.

QUALITY OF LIFE UPDATES

Attachment Swap Improvements
When replacing an attachment with one from the ground, if the old attachment is an improvement for your other weapon, the old attachment will get automatically transferred.

Replicator Updates
  • For Season 7, we have removed weapons from the crafting pool and have replaced them with Shield batteries. The high level attachments will still be tailored towards a weapon category.
  • We now prevent other players from picking up items that you crafted for the first 5 seconds after crafting. This can be disabled by pinging the item.

Air Drop Clarity
  • The colors of the beams have been changed to differentiate between normal airdrops, Lifeline's airdrops, and Replicator airdrops. Normal drops are a light tan, Lifeline's drops are blue, and Replicator drops and teal.
  • All of the airdrops' landing area FX while it's coming down matches their colors.
  • Airdrop beams still stay visible when close to the airdrop, instead of fading when you get close. The beam still disappears when the pod is opened.
Misc
  • The Arc Star now shows an Arc Star model when one is thrown near you, instead of a grenade.
  • Added a new VO line when you are using a Phoenix Kit
  • Added a new VO line when you drop a Holo Spray
  • You can now ping ammo in your inventory to request more from your squad
  • Made modifications to The Ring to reduce the amount of unplayable space in the circles.

MAP ROTATIONS

Regular Map Rotation
For 2 weeks, Olympus will be the only map you can play on. After that week we go into a normal rotation between Olympus and World’s Edge. We will be vaulting Kings Canyon for the time being.

Season 7 Ranked Rotation
The first half of Ranked Split will be played on Olympus. The second half of ranked will be played on World’s Edge. For more information on this season’s ranked updates, check out the ranked blog here.

LEGEND META

Bangalore
  • Rolling Thunder: Reduced the time it takes for explosion from 8 seconds to 6 seconds.
Dev Note:
Not much to say here. Rolling Thunder will continue to function primarily as a zoning ability, but with a somewhat shorter fuse, it will encourage enemies to leave the zone slightly faster.

Caustic
  • Nox Gas Trap/Nox Gas Grenade: Legends no longer get a blurred vision effect while in the gas. Damage updated from 4-10 ticks of damage to 6-12 ticks of damage.
Dev Note:
Fighting in Caustic Gas is one of the most frustrating things in Apex Legends, and yet we need the gas to represent a meaningful threat or else enemies will just ignore it. With this change we’re attacking what we think is the greatest contributor to this frustration: the fact that your vision is blurred while you’re in gas. This made it extremely hard to fight back. To make up for lost power, we’re upping the damage from the gas a bit.

Mirage
  • Psyche Out/Life of the Party: Decoys now have 45 health
Dev Note:
Our bamboozler-in-chief is a hard Legend to keep relevant. Every time we make a change to decoys, there is a clear uptick in usage and power as Mirage mains learn to use their new tools, and then as the rest of the world catches on and starts being able to tell the real Mirage from his equally handsome holographs, that uptick disappears. This time around we want to try and make it a little bit harder to clear out decoys. We’re giving them health, but to make this very clear up front: they will not work as a shield. While they take damage from bullets, the bullet also passes through them and hits whatever’s behind them. This is what we call the hallway test: you should not be able to win an engagement against an enemy in a straight coverless hallway by snapcasting a decoy and having said decoy eat an entire Wingman shot. Decoys will also play unique hit effects and briefly flicker out of existence when taking damage to help you differentiate between them and the real Mirage.

Octane
  • Swift Mend: Doubled healing rate (from 0.5 hp/s to 1.0 hp/s)
Dev note:
Octane is a Legend for players who like to go fast, run face first into the enemy, and get knocked down a lot. We think that’s absolutely fine; the fact that his Trios winrate isn’t great doesn’t really bother us because both his encounter win rate (think of this as his ability to score knockdowns) and his pick rate are very healthy. That said, we figured we could give him a little extra out of combat help. His passive’s heal rate was very slow, requiring up to 200s to fully heal your health bar.

Wattson
  • Perimeter Security: Increased damage per touch from 10 to 15.
Dev Note:
Wattson is the anti-Octane: not super powerful individually, not picked very often at all below Plat, but an absolute must have for competitive squads. We’re also happy with that niche, but figured it would be safe to give her a little extra power in her best case: people running into her fences. We’re aiming for this to bring up her power and attractiveness at lower levels of play especially, since we don’t see a lot of players run into Wattson fences in high skill matches.

Loba
  • Black Market: Ammo taken no longer counts towards Black Market’s maximum. You can scoop up all the ammo in range.
Dev Note:
We’re taking another swing at making Loba the ultimate Legend to bring to solve all of your team’s loot needs. We have heard your feedback that you want improvements to her tactical as well, and while that’s certainly not off the table, our data suggest that her encounter win rate (how many knockdowns she gets compared to how many times she’s knocked down, across all matches) is quite healthy. It’s her Trios winrate that’s worryingly low. Make no mistake: this is a major swing at making Black Market powerful.

Rampart
  • Sheila: Now takes 1.25 seconds to fully spin up, down from 2 seconds.
  • Amped Wall: Now takes 3 seconds to fully build, down from 4 seconds.
Dev Note:
In patch 6.1, we made a small change to how long it takes Sheila to tighten her bullet spread. This didn’t meaningfully increase her winrate. The other half of that change is in this patch. We do not want to change Rampart away from being a Legend that requires setup, but we do want to make it faster to set up. Amped Wall should remain a mostly out of combat setup ability rather than a reactive ability and Sheila should remain an area denial tool rather than a murder machine, but like all things, these balance points exist on a spectrum, and with this patch we’re moving them slightly closer to reactive/murder machine territory.

Pathfinder
Dev Note:
Pathfinder continues to be an overachiever in terms of win rate. The good news is that his grapple change in 6.1 didn’t move his win rate by much (it went up 1% in total). We’re doing two things this patch: we’re adjusting his hitboxes and we’re putting in tuning for Grappling Hook that will firmly move it into buff territory. More context below!
Hitbox: Pathfinder has a tall but extremely skinny hitbox. A lot of his model isn’t actually shootable and particularly his arms and legs do not represent a lot of shootable area either. Here is a before and after comparison of Pathfinder’s hitboxes:
https://preview.redd.it/izcuse62gvw51.png?width=1094&format=png&auto=webp&s=a05da59a412f562fc568bb7d18a63e02d1a3b145
As you can see, there is still a lot of negative space around his arms and legs. We’re hoping that by making it a little easier to hit Pathfinder, we can bring his win rate under control to the point where we can put meaningful power into his kit.
Because the question is sure to come up: we are not yet removing Low Profile from Pathfinder with this change. Even with these increased hitboxes, Pathfinder will still be considerably harder to hit than most other characters in the game. If this change does make a meaningful difference in terms of his win rate we will drop Low Profile; but we really didn’t want to take it off him this patch only to have to put it back next patch when it turns out his winrate spiked.

Grappling Hook: We’re making a number of changes to Grappling Hook. In 6.1 we shipped a very conservative version of this change; now that we know this didn’t meaningfully affect his winrate or, anecdotally, how frustrating it is to fight him, we’re shipping the much more aggressive version of the changelist. We also want to make it clear that players should not be punished for chaining grappling hook perfectly into other movement mechanics.
  • Pathfinder no longer needs to be on the ground for Grappling Hook to be considered finished.
  • The speed to which Pathfinder needs to drop for us to consider Grappling Hook finished was increased from 300 units/second to 500 units/second
  • The maximum cooldown grapple can be set to was lowered to 30 seconds, from 35 seconds; the maximum amount of travel time before a new cooldown is set is now 5 seconds, rather than being uncapped. This means that effectively, you can never incur more than a 35 second cooldown.
  • The amount of distance you can travel before you hit maximum cooldown was roughly doubled.

WEAPON META

Supply Drop
R99 Out of Supply Drop: The R99 will be returning to the normal loot pool this season, with the same stats it had before it went into the supply drop at the start of season 6.
  • Damage: 12 -> 11 (from Care Package version to normal pre-season 6)
  • Ammo 20/22/24/27

Prowler Into Supply Drop: The prowler is replacing the R99 in the supply drop. Despite the Selectfire hop-up being removed from the loot pool this season, the Prowler will still have the ability to change between 5 round bursts and full-auto.
  • Magazine size: 35; reserve ammo: 175
Fully Kitted Weapons
  • Removed: Devotion, Mastiff, Triple Take, Flatline, Volt
  • New: Wingman, Sentinel, Havoc, G7, Alternator

Hemlok
  • Increasing horizontal recoil of the first 3 shots slightly to the right (first burst when in burst mode)
  • Increasing recoil magnitude in the later stages of the pattern
  • Reducing recoil multiplier in single fire mode to help compensate for additional recoil in pattern. Recoil should mostly be increased in burst mode rather than single fire mode
  • Reducing headshot multiplier 2.0 -> 1.75 (44 -> 39 damage headshot against no helmet base character)
Dev Notes:
While we are happy to see the Hemlok get more attention with the recent buffs, we think it is a little too strong in season 6. The effective range of the burst mode felt a bit too far, and the spike damage capabilities of a full headshot burst were too strong in high level play.

Havoc
  • Updated recoil pattern. Kicks up, then right, then left, then up again.
Dev Notes:
With 6.0, the Havoc got a new recoil pattern. This new recoil pattern was a bit too erratic and difficult to control, due to multiple rapid changes in direction. We have adjusted the recoil pattern to have the same general movement while simplifying the motions required to control the pattern.

L-Star
  • LSTAR has a new recoil pattern that kicks horizontally at first and then settles into a relatively consistent upward recoil. Players who feather the trigger will be able to keep the LSTAR in the good portion of the recoil pattern.
  • LSTAR venting time after letting go of the trigger has been reduced 0.4s -> 0.15s.
  • LSTAR will now reduce heat faster when not overheated -- 1.15s from 99.9% to 0% charge if not overheated, still 2.45s if overheated.
Dev Notes:
The LSTAR had some limitations that caused it to feel worse than we’d like. The recoil pattern snaked back and forth, which was difficult to control reliably. Additionally, firing for short bursts and then releasing the trigger repeatedly, or “feathering the trigger”, felt somewhat clunky due to the long venting time after firing and the slow heat reduction. So, we are reducing those pain points to improve the viability and feel of feathering the trigger, and adjusting the recoil pattern to reward players who can effectively control the LSTAR’s heat.

Sentinel
  • Energized Sentinel now has a pure damage increase, instead of bonus damage only vs shields
  • Energized Sentinel base damage 70 -> 88
Dev Notes:
The Sentinel was still a bit weak. We think a good place to improve it is the energize ability. It seems a bit too situational, only being a benefit if the opponent has >70 shields. So, we are changing the energize from a “disruptor” anti-shield effect to an “amp” damage boost effect.

Triple Take
  • Fire rate 1.3 -> 1.2
Dev Note:
The Triple Take is still performing a bit too well after the most recent nerf, so we are reducing the fire rate back to what it was before the 6.0 patch. We will be watching in the future to see how just the integrated choke, sniper ammo increase, and new popularity affect the weapon’s performance.

Hop-Ups
  • Quickdraw Holster Hop-up: This new hop-up attaches to the RE-45 and Wingman. When equipped, the gun becomes quicker to raise and lower, takes less time to ADS, and has reduced hipfire spread (particularly when not actively moving). This should open up new opportunities to use the two weapons, especially in close-quarters combat.
  • The Selectfire Receiver hop-up will be removed from the loot pool to make room.

GAME META CHANGES

Evo Armor requirements increased
We increased the requirements to evolve Evo Armor in order to reduce the amount of players with Red Evo Armor during the end game.
  • Level 0 -> 1 : 100 damage (from 50)
  • Level 1 -> 2 : 150 damage (from 125)
  • Level 2 -> 3 : 300 damage (from 250)
  • Level 3 -> 4 : 750 damage (from 500)
Ring damage reduced
  • Ring 1: 2% per tick (same)
  • Ring 2: 3% per tick (from 5%)
  • Particularly this change should allow players enough time to pop a syringe if they are picked up in Ring 2.
  • Ring 3: 5% per tick (from 10%)
  • Ring 4: 10% per tick (from 20%)
  • Ring 5: 10% per tick (from 20%)
  • Ring 6: 15% per tick (from 25%)
  • Ring 7: 15% per tick (from 25%)

NEW HEIRLOOM - CAUSTIC’S DEATH HAMMER

Caustic’s Death Hammer is the latest heirloom to be added to the heirloom pool. This nox filled hammer will smash anyone who comes in contact with it.

LEGEND META

Rampart
  • Increased the rate at which Sheila's bullet spread tightens
Bloodhound
  • Updated Bloodhound’s tactical cooldown while ultimate is active from 6 seconds to 8 seconds.Dev Note: The 6.0 changes have been extremely powerful for Bloodhound. Their ultimate is now truly a moment you should fear as the enemy. We think we might have gone a little far with 6s. Against a competent BH, there would only ever be 2s during which you're not scanned. Changing it to 8s means you've got 4s of being revealed and 4s to reposition in between pulses.
Pathfinder
  • Grapple cooldown is now based on the distance Pathfinder traveled. The shortest possible pull has a 10s cooldown; the maximum cooldown is still 35s, but you're going to have to swing a very long distance to get there. Have fun out there, friends!Dev note:Pathfinder mains rejoice, the Outlands happiest robot is getting some love. Instead of dropping grapple cooldown back to 15s where it was before, or moving it to 25s as a compromise, we considered a player suggestion (thanks Reddit) to have the Grapple drain energy as it goes, similar to Titanfall 2. The difference here is we're looking at your full distance traveled: from the moment you leave the ground to when you're on the ground again and not sliding at crazy high speeds. What this means is two things:
  1. Bad Pathfinder players, no longer need to fear the faceplant grapple quite as much. If you're not going anywhere, you're not incurring much of a cooldown.
  2. If you're really really good at Pathfinder and looking for the absolute max distance grapple, you'll still have a 35s cooldown, assuming you land it. This both buffs Path a little less for the scariest robot players out there and it also opens up room for extra skill expression: can you find useful short distance grapples that'll give you a shorter CD but still do something good for you? Looking forward to seeing what you all do with this one.
Wraith
  • Updated Wraith’s sprint animation.Dev note:Wraith is a very challenging Legend to nerf. We look at Legend performance across a number of axes: how often trios with this Legend on them win games / place highly, how often this Legend gets knock downs vs is knocked down, how often this Legend is picked. Across each and every single one of these axes, Wraith dominates. And yet each time we hit her abilities (which we've done a lot) she bounces back within a few weeks without bleeding a lot of pick rate. Her kit is uniquely useful both in solo games and in highly coordinated games. Also she's just really cool. We get it.We don't want to hit her abilities anymore. We think both she and Pathfinder have been pushed to the edge in terms of cooldown and utility nerfs where pushing them any further would make them a lot less fun to play. We don't want that!So we started looking at other Legend specific things that could give her this power--and discovered that her sprinting animations are unique in how much they artificially shorten her (by hunching over), thus shrinking her shootable area from the perspective of the enemy. It doesn't sound like a lot, but taken together with her already small hitbox, it's a lot of power. This patch, we're introducing a new set of sprint animations for Wraith. These are much more upright and expose a larger area of her body to gunfire. Now we know her old sprint was iconic and we hate to see it go as well, but we believe this is the best way by far of bringing her in line without having to hit her abilities again. Depending on what we see after these animations go live, we may even be able to put some power back into her abilities (no promises though). As always, we will be listening to feedback and monitoring data on this change.
Crypto
  • Crypto’s Drone can now open loot vaults if Crypto has a key in his inventory. It consumes the key as usual.
Loba
  • Increased range of ultimate & passive from 3100 units to 4500 units.
  • Loba now starts the match with her ultimate half charged.

WEAPON META

Devotion
  • Increasing hipfire spread at a base level and also increasing the spread added while firing.
Spitfire
  • We try to keep hipfire numbers consistent with similar weapons of the same class. So, the hipfire spread increase on the Devotion is also being applied to the Spitfire. To compensate, we are reducing horizontal recoil on the Spitfire.
Triple Take
  • Reduced fire rate from 1.4 to 1.3.

QUALITY OF LIFE

  • Loot Prompts now show how much damage an evo shield has accumulated, so you can make a better decision when switching.
Armor!
  • You are now able to switch to same-level armor that has less health, if it is closer to evolving.
  • Loot Prompts will now have a small indicator that lets you know if your teammate needs this item, so you can ping it!
Ping!
  • Performance Display is a new option that activates a panel that appears in the top right corner of your screen during a match. The data displayed is as follows:
    • FPS - Frames Per Second, or how quickly your game is rendering frames
    • Latency - The time (in milliseconds) it takes for your game client to communicate to the server and back
    • Loss - Indicates the percentage of packet data lost per second on its way to or from the server
    • Choke - Indicates the percentage of packet data congestion on its way from the server
    • In/Out - The amount of data being sent from/to the server
    • If you're noticing persistent issues while playing, this display may help you (and us!) identify what's going on. The Performance Display can be enabled or disabled at any time from your Gameplay Settings menu.
New hud
  • Anonymous Mode has been added to the options. Anonymize your name in the champion presentation, obituary, and other locations of living opponents.
  • Level 0 Evo Armor will now appear as empty in the inventory, so you can ping to request for Armor
  • There are more banners placed around World's Edge to better support Cryptos ability to see nearby squads in his drone.
  • Out of Bounds - The out of bounds timer no longer refreshes each time you enter a new out of bounds area. The timer is now a fixed amount of time: 30 seconds. If you enter new out of bounds areas, the timer will steadily decrease. However, if you only have 5 seconds left, the timer will keep refreshing up to that 5 second mark.
    • This should work against people exploiting the timer, while still allowing time for people to get down if they land up there.
  • Random Favorite selection added for Music and Loadscreen categories
  • Holo Sprays will now remember which players liked them, and will display a count to the owner. This also prevents other players from spamming “like” on the holo spray.
  • Legend Tokens have been minimized to a tool tip in the lobby. Hover over your currency to see your amount.

BUG FIXES

General
  • Added the ability to ping the satellite dish at Crypto’s Map Room from the dropship.
Gibraltar
  • Fixed an issue with the bubble shield looking white in certain conditions.
Lifeline
  • Fixed an issue with the “Guardian Angel” Skin having a stretched neck when using Sheila.
  • Fixed an issue where care packages would not be allowed to be placed on certain parts of Capacitor, Rig, or Salvage in Kings Canyon.
Caustic
  • Fixed Caustic barrels from being placed at an angle on shipping crates.
Mirage
  • Fixed an issue that prevented Mirage decoys from being pinged.
  • Fixed an issue that did not allow Crypto’s drone to highlight decoys.

Wanted: Literally any competent player who likes to play as a team (NA East or West, PS4)

Are you of the radical mindset that Apex Legends is a cooperative, team game that works best when you stick together?
Do you like to mark loot for your teammates and have loot marked for you in return instead of vacuuming up everything in sight?
Are you devoid of any childhood traumas or psychological disorders that make you push engagements solo like a rabid squirrel on adderall? Do you like to play the game to win by positioning and choosing your engagements strategically?
Are you one of the VERY small sub population of Apex players who is not a selfish, cancerous bridge troll?
Then we will get on famously and you should join our merry band!
I am a Horizon/Bloodhound main in Gold 4, but I’ve only played about 200 games lifetime. My buddy is a Loba/Caustic/Mirage in Platinum 3 who has played sporadically since season 1. One of us is east coast, the other is west.
We have won a solid amount of games this season and rarely sign off a day without one, but this is getting harder the more terribly selfish players we get matched up with.
We usually play a few nights out of the week on east coast servers from 8/8:30 EST (5PM pacific) on into the evening. Weeknights we jump off at about 10/10:30 EST. Weekends we play scattered times throughout the day. Drop me a message or a comment with your gamer tag. Save us from the cancerous squad fills plz <3
Edit: It’s really cool getting so many responses! It would appear I’m spoiled for choice and I’ll be sending out quite a few PSN requests as soon as I get a chance today! Can’t wait to meet y’all and squad up together. Excited to have some wholesome teammates! If we don’t get a chance to play together tonight, we’ll definitely squad up soon

Character and synergy guide for new players

A counter to the other guy who posted star rating system for characters because it honestly was just awful on so many levels and rubbed me the wrong way. I am also close to a day 1 player with 1000 plus wins as well. My simplified philosophy for newbies for choosing characters in ranked (pubs you can pick whoever) is that they should focus on rounding out any composition they find themselves in by fulfiling a vacant role their team in.
This is because synergy is one of the easiest things you can do as someone with crap aim to help your team. If you have good aim, play whoever. But for the newbies start by focusing on filling these roles:
Entry fragger
Highground
Defense
Rotation
Beacons
Entry fragger is someone who goes in first aggressively and engages the fight in the most dangerous position. Typically high level players will prefer wraith due to her ability to start positioning aggressively, deal some damage and phase out if they take focus. She is the safest entry fragger in the game but a lot of people misinterpret this as her being the only one to be able to do so. There are actually a lot of entry fraggers in apex because most engagements happen due to opportunity more than full coordination. I actually think wraith isn't the best entry fragger, just the safest one. Because good (pro players) have incredible aim, they can get away with using wraith to entry drag because they can 1 clip at start of a fight, but newer players should focus on understand how to engagement and when so they may need assistance with actually good entry fraggers which gives them an advantage at the start.
Highground. If we get anything from this sub, it's always how Highground wins fights... And it's true. 99% of the time. So it's a crucial bonus to any team composition if you are just trying to be well rounded.
Defense. Apex is a br, so adaptability to 3rd parties is very important. Positioning too. So it's always good to have someone who can hold an area or fend of a 3rd party if required.
Beacons. This could be a broader topic called macro positioning but that's too complicated to talk about. Basically go into the best spot in the zone after using a beacon.
Resource management. Some legends help you reduce your use of resources which can be valuable, this can be ammo and heals.
Rotations. Last but definitely not least, this is considered the singular most important quality in the game. This just means going from point a to b, but that journey is fraught with dangers so it's important if you can have characters that ease some of those dangers.
There are other character specific qualities but these are generally the most important ones as of yet (new legends and maps may change some of the dynamics).
So now that you understand what qualities we are looking for in a 3 man, let's start clumping them in groups where characters can fulfil those roles. I'll put them in order of strongest to weakest (may not list everyone because their effect in that role could be pretty negilible after a while). Make note that characters will make multiple appearances which explains why some legends are more favoured than others by pro players or ranked teams.
Entry fragger
  1. Revenant
  2. Gibralter
  3. Bloodhound
  4. Caustic
  5. Horizon
  6. Wraith
  7. Pathfinder
  8. Mirage
  9. Bangalore
-* honorary mention crypto as the strongest engage in the game.
Pretty stacked list. My philosophy is that any abilities which help you push an enemy aggressively makes you entry fragger. Notable low positions are wraith and Bangalore who are only good at entry fragging if you better aim or movement than the enemy. But that's not really due to the characters themselves actively helping so I put them low.
Highground
  1. Horizon
  2. Pathfinder
  3. Loba
  4. Revenant
  5. Wraith
No surprise probably apart from wraith but basically she allows you to free climb up things without being shot so I consider that a way to get high ground. Add portal and she can get your team into highground positions. Octane makes no appearances on my synergy list because I don't like him on my teams no matter how good they are.
Defense
  1. Caustic
  2. Wattson
  3. Gibralter
  4. Wraith
  5. Lifeline
  6. Bangalore
  7. Rampart
  8. Horizon
Why is wraith higher than lifeline? Because wraith can portal downed team mates out which I find is stronger than lifeline if she doesn't have gold bag. But with gold bag it's probably close.
Beacons
  1. Crypto
  2. Pathfinder
  3. Bloodhound
Pretty easy list. Crypto has the best chances to get ring info.
Rotations
  1. Wraith
  2. Bloodhound
  3. Gibralter
  4. Pathfinder
  5. Bangalore
  6. Horizon
This is the interesting one. Wraith obvious, bloodhound however allows you plan a path through safely. Gibralter stops you from dying if you are rotating into a team in a good position which allows you to reset and maybe pick another course.
Resource Management
  1. Loba
  2. Lifeline
  3. Wattson
  4. Gibralter
  5. Wraith
  6. Rampart
  7. Caustic
  8. Crypto
Gibralter because arm shield blocks 2 cells worth of damage minimum so can stack up over time. Wraith to portal to care packages. Caustic because he doesn't peek much and is never likely to be pushed if he has a good position. Crypto emp evolving armor strategy.
So with this we can understand why wraith/gibby/bloodhound is meta. They have the most flexible set of skill sets that cover everything. But there is a lot more things to consider that I don't have time to explain as this has already become a behemoth of a guide.
Bonus last aspect to consider:
Early game (ring 1)
  1. Loba
  2. Caustic
  3. Lifeline
  4. Wraith
  5. Horizon/pf
Loba for loot grab number 1. Caustic and lifeline for high value abilities. Wraith for surviving. Pf or horizon for being able to get the God spots on command.
Mid game (ring 2 and 3)
  1. Wraith
  2. Gibralter
  3. Bloodhound
  4. Bangalore
  5. Crypto
This mid game is dominated by rotation and 3rd party protection.
Late game (3+)
  1. Caustic
  2. Gibralter
  3. Crypto
  4. Wraith/horizon
Crypto moves up in value because he would have positioned himself well here and wraith probably already used portal and end game portals aren't as op now but her phase is valuable here anyway. Horizon because she can sit in God spots or dodge ultimates and has a very strong ulti her self.
Bringing my league of legends terminology into the mix this is the last thing to think about, but I haven't fully fleshed it out.
I haven't included all characters because I don't think you should stray too far from this list in ranked. But also bear in mind that these are only very narrow concepts to help new players understand the game in a structured way. There are more synergies and more things to think about. If you land train yard loba goes up in value for stealing the gold armor. If you land in Olympus as gibby, you should try to get a car, horizon teams should contest thermal because she has the best access to ultimate height there. Shit like that is something you develop as you play for a long time. But I hope this has helped new players to think about synergy because a lot of the time everyone always want to be aceu (I'm guilty too) when this game works more as a team game.

Hammond Robotics continues to take over World’s Edge. They’re up to… something… nefarious. They have taken steps to “upgrade” World’s Edge with changes to The Dome, Drill site, and other Points of Interests.
Read up on all the map changes from Jason McCord, our Design Director, on the previously released blog here.

NEW LEGEND: RAMPART

https://preview.redd.it/pj1qztv0dmh51.jpg?width=1431&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55e9b79710cd9290c73021d7b5be2efc174b0f3f
Ramya Parekh is a 21-year-old British Indian, blue collar, private business owner who just needs a big gun and a backpack full of scrap metal to get by in the dangerous, wild west world of the Outlands.
Parekh brings her modded shields, and knowledge of heavy weapons, such as Sheila (well, that’s what she calls her minigun).
Passive: Modded Loader
Rampart has increased magazine capacity and faster reloads when using LMGs and the Minigun. Modded Loader also increases the amount of shots before overheating occurs and improves cooling when using the L-STAR.
Tactical: Amped Cover
Rampart builds a crouch-cover wall, which deploys a full-cover amped wall that blocks incoming shots and amps outgoing shots. A max of 5 amped walls can be deployed at a time.
Ultimate: Emplaced Minigun “Sheila”
Rampart places a mounted machine gun that anyone can use, with high ammo capacity and a long reload time. A max of 3 miniguns can be deployed at a time.
For Parekh, the Apex card means more than just an invitation to compete.

NEW WEAPON - VOLT SMG

https://preview.redd.it/ca1jd1z5dmh51.jpg?width=1431&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8b75eb636aa2615a1b5595ef5c695b7b7deaf9e0
The first energy-based SMG to see regular use in the Frontier, the Volt allows its operator to fire a salvo of energy-based ammunition, decreasing drag and making it possible to hit multiple targets within a short window.

CRAFTING SYSTEM

We all know the RnG gods are not always in your favor. With Season 6 we are introducing a crafting system. Find materials throughout the map via loot bins or material stations, then take these to a Replicator.
In the Replicator, you’ll find eight different pieces of loot that you can craft, if you have enough materials. Some of this loot rotates on a weekly or daily basis, but you’ll always be able to see what’s currently craftable in the game mode selector or the map screen.
Read more on the Crafting system from Systems Designer, Mark Yampolsky here.

ARMOR META

With Season 6, we're introducing some big changes to the way armor works in the game.
First off, all armor in the game is Evo Armor (except the Gold Armor).
When you find a white, blue or purple armor on the ground, it's a pre-leveled Evo Armor. It can be picked up like normal, and continue to be evolved. Red Armor is not in the ground loot and can only be achieved through evolving.
Gold Armor is not part of the Evo Armor track, and is only found in rare locations as usual.
Another interesting change is that players spawn with level 0 Evo Armor. If you get in gun fights right away, and do enough damage, you will automatically level up into a White Armor. And you can continue to take that all the way to Red.
We think this will really help with loot availability in the early game, without requiring players to drop hot when they don't want to.
With all the changes in Season 6, players now have the opportunity to level up their shields through damage, luck in ground loot, or through crafting!
The last big differences is that all Armor is coming down by 25 health. This means, players with Purple and Gold Armor have 175 health, not 200. Red Armor gets you to 200 health, and you can no longer get to 225.
Our goal for this is to bring down the TTK (time to kill) a bit in order to better reward strategic positioning.
New Damage Requirements: Damage to white: 50 Damage to blue: 125 Damage to purple: 250 Damage to red: 500

HOLO SPRAYS

https://preview.redd.it/i346ofeddmh51.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38ebfb3da5f9c5b651d923ad3c93073bb7181a50
Holo sprays are a new way to emote in the arena. By using the Emote wheel, you can throw down these legend specific calling cards to taunt bested enemies, or warn future challengers that you're not to be messed with.

BATTLE PASS

LEGENDS:

This patch, we're taking a look at the recon class. A class built around information gathering should be powerful in a BR where knowing where the enemy is is often the difference between life and death, but out of the three Legends in the recon class (Pathfinder, Crypto, and Bloodhound), one dominates in terms of in-game performance. (It’s the robot. The robot dominates.)
In this patch, we’re mostly buffing Bloodhound as they needed the help the most. Crypto’s changes are a mixed bag as we also found one bug we had to fix that was giving Crypto a hidden advantage (TLDR: sometimes when you thought you were hitting the drone, you weren’t really hitting the drone). Between the buffs to Bloodhound's ult and the new utility Crypto gains on his drone, we hope to see a more diverse field of recon legends in game.

RECON CLASS:

  • All Recon legends (Bloodhound, Crypto, and Pathfinder) can now use Survey Beacons to get the next ring location. Crypto can use his drone to instantly get this information.
Pathfinder:
  • Context: Giving all Recon legends access to survey beacons makes Pathfinder less unique, and obviously we don’t love that. For now, we’re giving our friendly robot a small buff to his ultimate cooldown when he uses a survey beacon, but in the future we will take another look at Pathfinder to see what else we could do to make him feel more unique.
  • Passive: Each time Pathfinder scans a survey beacon, the total cooldown of Zipline Gun is reduced.
  • Numbers: Zipline Gun cooldown reduced by 10s each time Pathfinder scans a beacon. Up to 6 rings per game means the total cooldown of Zipline Gun can go from 120s to 60s.
Bloodhound:
  • Context: Bloodhound fulfills a very clear role in Apex Legends: they’re the information gatherer and tracker, but currently their performance leaves a lot to be desired. In this patch, we wanted to double down on their ultimate being their big moment of becoming a god-like tracker. Bloodhound already gives up some information to the enemy when they scan or use the ultimate (it makes a noticeable sound), so we think there is room for a lot more power during the ultimate.
  • Beast of the Hunt: Now gains even more duration when Bloodhound scores a knockdown or kill with the ultimate about to run out.
  • Eye of the Allfather: During Beast of the Hunt, Eye of the Allfather now comes out twice as fast and has a much shorter cooldown.
  • Numbers:
    • Beast of the Hunt duration extension 5s → [5s - 15s] based on remaining duration
    • Eye of the Allfather CD during Beast of the Hunt: 25s → 6s
    • Eye of the Allfather total use time during Beast of the Hunt: 1.8s → 0.9s
Crypto:
  • Context: Crypto is a particularly interesting recon character: the amount of information he can gather for his team with the drone is very high, but the fact that he has to switch over to his drone leaves him vulnerable and often at a great distance from his team. Because he has no abilities without his drone, we figure there’s room for even more power when he’s in his drone.
  • Surveillance drone:
    • Crypto can now activate respawn and survey beacons from his drone. Doing so is instant instead of requiring a prolonged use.
    • Made the surveillance drone slightly more consistent to hit but also doubled its hitpoints.
  • Drone EMP:
    • EMP will now slow teammates caught in the blast, even if they had no shields. This means that players who have used Revenant’s Death Totem will also be slowed.
  • Numbers:
    • Surveillance Drone 30HP → 60HP
    • Surveillance Drone hitbox size: cube of edge length 16 → cube of edge length 24

OTHER LEGENDS:

Revenant:
  • Context: We’re happy to see that dropping the range restriction on Death Totem brought a lot more Revenants into play, but we’ve been watching a particularly frustrating combo play out in professional level play involving a squad of Revenant, Wraith, and Crypto, where using the three ultimates together resulted in two back to back runs at the enemy team that they could do very little about. We’ve attacked part of that in the Crypto EMP change, but here’s the other part aimed at making this play less overwhelming.
  • Death Totem:
    • For 2s after being recalled by the Death Totem, players cannot use Wraith’s Dimensional Rift.
Octane:
  • Stim: Can now use Stim while healing, but stim will not remove the slow you incur from healing.
Loba:
  • Context: While Loba was initially very popular, she’s been struggling to keep up more recently, so we’re tossing her a little buff. If you’re curious why we’ve chosen to buff her ultimate rather than her tactical: we’re seeing that she has decent combat success but that teams with her on them don’t win as much as, say, teams with Lifeline or Wattson. This suggests to us that her out of combat utility (that is to say, how she funnels loot to her team) isn’t doing enough.
  • Black Market:
    • Lowered cooldown from 3min to 90s
Gibraltar:
  • Defensive Bombardment:
    • Increased cooldown from 3 minutes to 4.5 minutes
Bangalore:
  • Rolling Thunder:
    • Decreased cooldown from 4.5 minutes to 3 minutes
Wattson:
  • Interception Pylon
    • Trophy system will now shoot down Caustic barrels in flight if they would have landed inside the range of the trophy.

LOOT

Added:
  • Extended Energy Mags.
  • Turbocharger Hop-up
Updated:
  • Precision Choke - Removed Precision Choke from loot pool, but it will now be integrated into the Triple Take and Peacekeeper by default. Fire select toggles on/off the choke
In Supply Drop:
  • R99
    • Damage increased from 11 to 12
    • Increased magazine size to 32
    • Ammo Reserve: 160
Out of Supply Drop- Into Ground Loot:
  • Devotion
    • Clip size reduced back to original values (36/40/44/48).

FULLY KITTED WEAPON SWAPS:

Removed:
  • DMR
  • Hemlok
  • Spitfire
  • EVA-8
  • RE-45
Added:
  • Devotion
  • Mastiff
  • Triple Take
  • Flatline
  • Volt

UPDATED LOOT

Sniper ammo
  • Increased pick up from 8 to 12
  • Increased Stack Size from 16 to 24
Energy Ammo
  • Reduce amount picked up from 30 to 20.

WEAPON UPDATES

Hemlok:
  • Reduced vertical recoil in burst mod
  • Slightly reducing recoil in pattern on 2nd and 3rd shot so first burst kicks less
  • Burst mode time between bursts .32 -> .28
Charge Rifle
  • Will now use 2 ammo per shot.
  • Increased mag size from 4 to 8
Triple Take Buff:
  • Increase fire rate 1.25 -> 1.4
  • Increased Mag size from (5/6/7/8) to (6/7/8/9)
  • Built the Choke hop up into the weapon by default. Toggle select-fire to enable/disable the Choke
PK
  • Built the Choke hop up into the weapon by default. Toggle select-fire to enable/disable the Choke
Spitfire
  • Improve recoil controllability
Havoc
  • Updated Havoc with a new recoil pattern Designer Note: The Havoc's existing recoil pattern had constant horizontal movement. This means it would either be too difficult to control if there was too much recoil, or far too easy to control if there was too little recoil. Updating to a new pattern which is more consistent in style with existing recoil patterns.
Mozambique
  • Increased clip size from 3 to 4.
P2020
  • Increased Damage from 13 to 15
  • Decreased Hammerpoint damage multiplier from 2.7 to 2.35. This will leave Hammerpoint P2020 damage unchanged in most scenarios..
  • Increased mag size from (10/13/15/18) to (12/14/16/18)
Sentinel
  • Only requires one shield cell to charge if the player has the gold armor.
Prowler
  • Slightly Reduce vertical recoil in burst mode
  • Increase horizontal recoil in Auto Mode

QUALITY OF LIFE

  • Supply Drop Weapons are now Heirloom Tier (red) to avoid confusion with fully kitted guns which will remain gold.
  • World’s Edge received performance improvements, especially around The Tree, The Dome and Skyhook, looking towards the center of the map.
  • Alterations were made to The Ring to prevent late zones from centering on unplayable terrain and reduce the predictability of the zone’s “pull.”

The Apex Pro meta is undeveloped; the game is still breakable. Here’s how you can exploit this.

Right now, the pro meta for games is to gather three 89 IQ aimbros with good mechanics, let them pick whatever they want with limited discussion of synergy, and then hope that the team with the best mechanics wins in tournaments.
This is typical of every game with a developing professional scene. The first teams are chosen based on raw mechanics, the meta is limited to what characters have strong abilities or winrates, and then the tournaments are coinflipped.
However, Apex is entirely breakable. If a team of players coordinated beyond shouting “he’s one” or “wraith on me” you would see them begin to have success separate from their mechanical skill. Even though the game rewards mechanical skill, a vast majority of the pros are still WM1’ing fights without considering much beyond that.
I'm a top 200 Predator player on the Tokyo server, the largest and most competitive region in the world due to the closure of the Korean servers and the popularity of Apex in Japan (the most popular pc game in Japan at 40% pc market share.) I’ve started to see a development of strategic thinking that will eventually break the game’s meta and lead to an interesting and more cerebral development in the pro scene. If you have a team or just a club that you want to be competitive, start thinking about these things.
To develop this, teams need to consider four things.
  1. Standard response outlines (SRO) should be developed. If you’re being poked from long rage, do you push or break line of sight? When you hear gunfire should you immediately third party or secure a vantage point and defend fourth parties? When entering a house with intention to hold the position, how should defenses be set up? Having these ground rules or rules of engagement set up should be standard procedure. We've all had a teammate start spamming G7 shots at a black speck in the distance, only for that team and three others to gank us and knock us out at 17. With an SRO, you would set up rules of engagement and how to teamfire effectively.
  2. Map rotations should be standardized. Circles are limited. There should be a standard path your team takes to the final circle. Develop a plan to deal with open sightlines, clearing buildings, moving through low-ground, or clearing high ground.
  3. Team synergies should be further developed. Teams should have a fragger, a scout, and a support. [Note: the respawn designations in the client don’t necessarily match what roles a legend can play. It’s perfectly possible for Gibraltar to be a fragger or Mirage to be a scout. However, some legends work better for some purposes.]The fragger is in charge of carrying teamfights and topfragging. However, they should still be chosen for team synergy. The scout is in charge of locating teams, finding and clearing locations, and shotcalling. They coordinate the team’s movement. The support is in charge of securing locations and supporting the team by being last into a fight and defending against flanks. Player strengths and preferences should come into account when creating a balanced team. Putting three 20k kill Wraith mains on one team should spell disaster in a developed pro scene, just like in League of Legends putting 5 midlaners on one team would result in instant loss, despite having excellent mechanics.
  4. Abilities should be coordinated. Just like we’re seeing with the potentially intentional Crypto/Rampart strategy, other abilities should be more often combined. However, when watching the pro scene or even streamers playing in three stacks, you see them using their abilities selfishly rather than in a coordinated manner and without a shotcaller. Combining things like Horizon and Caustic’s ults, or Gibraltar, Bangalore, Crypto ults in a measured, strategic manner would have a devastating effect on teamfights. Simply pressing Z at the same time isn’t enough.
I’m in the process of scouting and developing a team for the next ALGS Tokyo, so these things have been at the forefront of my mind. Simply considering them when you are going into your next games will help you begin to see the game as something more like chessboxing than arm wrestling.

Discussion of the Games current state

The game is at its shittiest point right now and after 3 seasons of hoping for it to become better I have lost all hope of it improving at all. The Devs are ignoring a lot of critical issues about this game and are doing nothing to fix it. I've been a fan of this game ever since it came out, spent over 60 dollars on it which may not be a lot for some people but it's a lot for me, I love this game and i care about it, I want to support but literally everything going on with it right now tells me not to, which is why I'm typing this right now.
Here's a list of critical issues that have been present before the quarantine that the Devs are ignoring:
  1. the matchmaking system: wether it's SBMM or EOMM it's fucked either way, neither of these systems provide a pleasant experience for the player unless they're a predator three stack, it's ruining matches for newbies, average players and solo queuers who are the majority of this fanbase. Right now all an average player will meet is three stacks and teammates that aren't even level 100, 99.99% of randoms have an extra chromosome and they are deaf and blind judging by the way they play and it really doesn't help when the matchmaking is absolute shit and puts me against Predators, and no it doesn't matter if you did good or bad in your last match, you'll be screwed over either way.
  2. Servers: this game has the shittiest servers in the gaming industry, with a 20 tick rate and extreme instability, they're by far the worst servers I have experienced to date, other games have way better servers than Apex and some of them have to track even more stuff in matches, Battlefield 1 is a prime example, the map is bigger, there are more stuff to track (alongside bullets since none of the weapons are hitscan and almost everything that's present in Apex, it also has to track horses, tanks, planes and the buildings collapsing), and there are more players in Operations mode, all of that and yet it has a 60 tick rate, Fortnite has a tick rate of 30 Hz, Warzone has a tick rate of 20 but the map is much bigger than any Apex map and it also has double the amount of players on it so it could be justified in some way.
  3. Sound: it's been broken since this game came out, they haven't done any improvements to it and somehow they messed it up even more this season, it's not existent at all, sound just cuts a lot of times in both maps and on different areas and locations on it for absolutely no reason, gun sounds, footsteps sounds and even the maps ambient sounds just disappear most of the time, enemies sneak up on me without making any noise but I can hear my teammates footsteps and healing noises from the other end of the map.
  4. No punishments for early quitters and solo droppers: this one is pretty self explanatory, the Devs are refusing to add solos into this game because it's a team game and some legends will be useless yet are doing nothing about people that literally quit as soon as the match starts because they didn't like their teammates stats or leave as soon as they're about to get killed or downed so they don't lose their K/Dr, people have been requesting some kind of penalty for those kinds of players since they literally throw the entire idea of the game which is teamplay and teamwork, they land solo, leave as soon as they're downed and swear at you a bit before they do just to add some insult to the injury, we aren't demanding much, something like loss of XP or a 2 minutes matchmaking restriction will suffice.
  5. Monetization (and before anyone says the same thing that everyone's said, it's not EA, they are the ones controlling the prices): we all know about this problem, scummy and predatory tactics like putting skins in overpriced bundles instead of letting us buy them separately and also putting the matching weapons and legends skins in seperate packs to force the player and the whales to spend even more money, they received a ton of backlash during the Iron Crown Event, they promised to make it fair, but they didn't, here's the fake promise.
At launch we made a promise to players that we intend to do monetization in a way that felt fair and provided choice to players on how they spent their money and time.
Source is from this official article: ea.com/games/apex-legends/amp/news/iron-crown-update
They talked again about how they'll "consider our criticism and complaints" only for them to keep going at it, they're still continuing with this whole thing and aren't showing to planing to stop this shitty practice anytime soon.
  1. Devs not listening: tell me how many great and wonderful ideas have you seen on the sub that the Devs didn't even bat an eye for ? Ideas for events, quality of life changes, skins ideas and suggestions, skin concept art, LTM ideas, weapon balancing ideas, Legend balancing ideas, Legend concepts and concept arts, weapons concepts and concept arts and many other stuff, now tell me how many of them were actually added to the game or even considered ? I can only think of two honestly, Mirages ultimate (it wasn't even made by the fanbase) and Pathfinder's new tactical, they literally added the idea of putting a crown over the kill leaders skulls a YEAR after it was suggested, a lot of players have suggested wonderful ideas that would boost this games popularity a lot, stuff such as a monthly poll where people vote for the best fan concept and add it to the game, putting past LTMs in rotation has been suggested by a shit ton of people but never has been done and probably wouldn't as well, ways to put solos into the game without screwing over some legends or the players count in each mode, those ideas and many other ideas have been ignored even though some of them don't require that much extra work and probably don't require extra work at all.
Here's a list of critical issues that have become present after quarantine:
  1. Balancing: this one was present before quarantine but I'm putting it here since it's the worst this season because they have done nothing about the Hemlok and Horizon, for some reason the Devs haven't gotten out one balance update for the entirety of this season, the Hemlok is literally everywhere, level 1s and Predators alike are using it and it fucking shreds, it can kill someone with a white shield with two bursts, if you get some headshots then you just knocked someone with a purple or even a red shield.
Horizon can literally get anywhere with her tactical while Revenant still can't climb a fucking fence, Pathfinder is crippled since the distance that can be traveled without getting a pretty long cooldown is pretty low, and since her tactical remains active for a long time, the longest duration she'll spend every match without her tactical being ready or active is pretty much 5 seconds (unless a Revenant hits her).
You'd expect elements of this game that depends heavily on balancing to improve the players experience being this OP to be nerfed pretty shortly after release, right ? No, we still didn't get even one balance update that does anything, and Respawn's idea for balancing weapons by increasing the recoil or making it harder to control is pretty shit since it only give advantage to Hypersweats that play 26 hours a day and have the recoil pattern of every weapon carved into their brains leaving new players and average ones scared of using the weapon and anyone that uses it, if they're going to nerf it, then they need to do the same thing they did with the G7 and the Wingman, slowing down bullet time and increasing the weight of the bullet or lowering the damage and changing the magazine size is pretty good since literally anyone can track and press the fire button unlike recoil control which can be hard to learn for new player who yet still have to learn the mechanics of this game.
  1. Performance: I don't know what happened but the game is literally performing at its worst right now especially on last gen consoles, a Horizon Tactical can literally drop my frames to 40 fps, her ultimate just fucks up everything and drops it even further to 30 and below, the game starts having performance issues randomly as well, frame drops might happen at any time, the lobby starts to lag extremely bad after a few hours of playing or less, the game starts having lag spikes randomly in-match when near areas like the waterfall and sound just disappears.
  2. Updates: updates were slow to roll before, now they're even slower, it is understandable since they're working from home but literally any update to anything would be fine, a small bug fix or a balancing experiment would be fine and good, players wait entire months for an update only for it to be extremely buggy and return old bugs that have been already fixed multiple times back with it, updates literally clash with each other causing even newer bugs and old bugs to pop back into the game even though they've been removed, the Octane being stuck into the Double Jump state after using a jump pad is still in the game even though they said they fixed it and has ruined multiple matches for me, other bugs such as the shooting while knocked have returned many times after each update during season 5 and before it.
I really love this game, and I want it to improve and grow and I want to support, but the way things are going right now is not fine, everything about this game is just exhausting and tiring, the solo queue experience is a nightmare, servers are unimaginably bad and the matchmaking is pushing people away from this game, it's clear this game is in a critical state since the player count has not reached 100 million and is probably still around 70 million players since season 3 while Fortnite has reached over 350 million during that time, many players are leaving and a lot of players are getting exhausted with the current extremely broken matchmaking system, now this obviously does not mean the game is dead or anything even close to that, it's still popular and has millions of active players, but the majority of the playerbase is frustrated with the current state of the game, I want the game to improve and flourish, and I hope this post does something even if it's something as simple as a discussion.

Wraith doesn't need any more nerfs or fine-tuning despite the meta data and here's why.

Dear respawn, on behalf of the apex community.
Let me make a case for not nerfing wraith
So let's first examine the two main tropes of a broken character in FPS games
  1. The character possesses abilities that negate most or all abilities from other characters
  2. The character is significantly smaller than other characters
So as we already know wraith at launch looked like this
-20 second-ish cooldown on a phase ability that was instant
-Naruto run animation that cut her hitbox in half
-Portal which allowed her to travel great distances and even survive endgame circles, while moving herself and teammates to safety.
All of these things were pretty dumb and cheese to introduce into one character (cheese meaning it's sticky and a mess and ruins the experience for other players)
Wraith of course now looks like
-25 second cooldown on a phase that needs time to start but provides faster movement in the void
-Increased portal cooldown and reduced distance
-Running animation has wraith running upright.
-Portals no longer last outside the ring

Personally, I would argue, all the cheese if not most of it (except for how the concept of her character is the most unbalanced shit i've ever heard of) has been removed.
Wraith isn't so much overpowered as to the point where she makes playing other characters "the incorrect and dumb move" It's just that by default her ability to negate damage and overcome problems that really no one else can; makes her a better character because of the move set, not because the move set is broken per se.
A similar case is true of pathfinder, while significantly weaker now than he was at launch, the real issues of his kit have been pretty much solved. The annoying things wraith was able to do, are in essential; no longer possible.

And of course her win rate and fight win rate are never going to drop, neither is her pick rate to any significant degree, Wraith players like playing wraith, wraith has the connotation of "the best legend in the game" and she's also free to play not requiring any legend tokens to obtain her. It's unsurprising to me that these metrics have not changed. But just because these metrics have not changed, does not mean that the character still needs adjustments.
Now lets for a brief moment turn to Gibraltar. Aka the last time respawn used meta data to "fix" a legend
During seasons 3-4 and arguably 5 if we count before the s5 collection event. Gibraltar became an absolutely busted legend that dominated the meta. You simply had to pick him for most matches if you wanted a serious contender on your team, fuck octane, fuck mirage, fuck lifeline, hell, fuck Bangalore, this shit didn't matter you needed a Gibby, he had 75 gun shield, fast revive, fast heals, easy airstrike cooldown and a dome that lasted almost half a minute.\
Despite every single upgrade to Gibraltar his win rate and fight win rate barely moved, which led you (the devs) to consider buffing him even more, only with significant pushback from the apex community did you listen to us and scale back his power and make him a more balanced legend, removing most of the cheese from his kit, while not making him unplayable like he was at launch.
Gibraltar is in essence the exact opposite of wraith, but their cases are similar.
I really want you (respawn) to think before you nerf or buff someone simply because of meta data, see if these legends really are balanced in play or if you just have a significantly large percentage of the player base who plays one character (wraith) so much that it is offsetting any impacts your changes have to the character.
Anyway, thanks for reading have a good one and stay safe.

Lost Treasure Event Patch Notes and Dev Stream

Lost Treasure Event Patch Notes and Dev Stream

APEX DEVSTREAM // EA PLAY RECAP & LOST TREASURE EVENT

The newest Devstream is now live! Join us as the team dives into details around the Lost Treasures Collection Event, which begins tomorrow at 8am PT, and more! As a bonus, peep the patch notes below.

LOST TREASURE COLLECTION EVENT PATCH NOTES

We’re bringing a ton of exciting changes to the game along with the Lost Treasures Collection Event. In addition to the event, we’ll be making a host of tweaks to various Legend abilities and weapons. Get all the intel here so you’re fully prepared when you drop in.

ARMED & DANGEROUS EVOLVED LTM

The Armed & Dangerous Limited time mode has evolved. In this LTM, only Shotguns and Snipers are allowed. You’ll also start with a Mozambique and Evo armor. All other armor has been removed from the loot pool. But that’s not all. Respawn beacons will also be removed and all players will start with the Mobile Respawn Beacon in their inventory.

MOBILE RESPAWN BEACONS

Mobile Respawn Beacon
Need to Respawn on the go? Use the new Mobile Respawn Beacons! In the Armed and Dangerous LTM, players will start the match with one in their inventory. Then from the inventory screen, deploy it anywhere on the map and save your fallen teammates. But beware, calling in a Respawn Beacon takes time, giving your enemies time to find you, take you out, and use that Beacon you just deployed. So find that safe spot before you call it in.

CRYPTO TOWN TAKEOVER

Crypto's Town Takeover
Crypto is taking over and providing some recon to Kings Canyon. Located at the south-east of the map (under Repulsor), lies Crypto’s Map Room. Use his tech to get the location of all Legends on the map and check the screens scattered around the room to see how many enemy squads are nearby.

HEIRLOOM - MIRAGE'S TROPHY

Mirage's Heirloom
Isn’t that a handsome guy! Yes, it’s true, your man Mirage is getting his Heirloom! The gorgeous statue is one of a kind (sort of) and will ensure you look good in the arena.

LEGEND UPDATES

Lifeline
  • Passive
    • Combat Revive now replaces Combat Medic.
      • Deploy D.O.C to revive teammates. D.O.C. will deploy a shield and revive Lifeline’s teammate, leaving Lifeline free to defend or revive someone else.
      • This fully replaces Lifeline’s old passive, including Fast Heal
  • Tactical
    • Lifeline’s Tactical cooldown is now 45 seconds (was 60 seconds).
  • Ultimate
    • Lifeline’s Care Package now contains more items
      • Care Package will contain 3x more small healing items, when it decides to spawn small healing items
      • Care Package will contain 2x more attachments, when it decides to spawn attachments
Octane
  • Tactical
    • Upon activation, Stim will remove movement impairing effects.
    • Stim sprinting speed is increased by 10%
  • Ultimate
    • Players can now double jump in mid-air after using Octane’s Launch Pad
    • Players can change direction easily from the double jump.
Revenant
  • Tactical
    • Will now cancel:
      • Pathfinder mid-grapple
      • Wraith mid-Phase Walk attempt (before Phase Walk activates)
    • Will now prevent:
      • Mirage cloaked revive
      • Mirage decoy control activation
      • Lifeline combat revive
  • Ultimate
    • Range removed on Death Totem
Crypto
  • Tactical
    • Deploying Hack (Crypto’s Drone) now takes 1.5 seconds (from 2.5 seconds)
  • Ultimate
    • EMP will now disable Wattson’s Pylons.
Loba
  • Tactical
    • Burglar’s Best Friend will no longer be intercepted by Watton's Interception Pylon.
  • Ultimate
    • Black Market Boutique (ultimate) will now only pick up 1 stack of ammo (rather than 1 stack + the amount that was required to fill whatever partial stack you had in your inventory).
    • Ultimate Accelerants now give 20% ult charge (up from 17.5%).
Mirage
  • Tactical
    • You can now hold the tactical button, and release to auto-control decoys
    • Decoys will now say lines when shot
  • Passive
    • When cloaked, Mirage’s holo emitters will be visible to players that are less than 5 meters away
  • Skydive
    • Will now create decoys for the entire squad when skydiving when still diving with your squad.
Gibraltar
  • Fast Heal granted inside the Dome Shield, slowed down: 25% faster -> 15% faster
Caustic
  • Enemies can cancel Caustic’s barrel by shooting it before it is fully inflated.
Wattson
The intent of these changes is to create openings where enemies can breach Wattson positions. It is still possible for Wattson players to hold a position with a trophy indefinitely, but that should come at the cost of using Ultimate Accelerants.
  • Wattson’s Pylons now last for 90 seconds
  • Wattson can now have up to 3 pylons out at a time
  • Wattson can stack 2 Ultimate accelerants per inventory slot
Wraith
Increasing Wraith’s tactical cooldown has proven to be ineffective at curbing her exceedingly high win rate and kill rate. These changes are meant to disincentivize Wraith players from using Phase Walk as a “get out of jail free” card, and move it into more of a repositioning and scouting ability.
  • Phase Walk
    • Phase Walk now takes 1.25 seconds to enable (was 0.4 seconds). During this time, Wraith will receive a 20% move slow
      • This does not affect Phase Walk while placing a Phase Portal
    • While in Phase Walk, Wraith now gets a 30% move speed boost
    • While in Phase Walk, Wraith can now see other players while in the Void.
    • Phase Walk now lasts 4 seconds (from 3 seconds)
    • Phase walk cooldown is now down to 25 (from 35 seconds)
  • Phase Tunnel
    • Decreased distance for portal placement by 25%.

WEAPONS / LOOT

Ziplines
  • A cooldown will be applied to re-grabbing Ziplines without touching the ground
  • The cooldown will increase with each time a player disconnects and re-grabs the zipline
  • The cooldown will reset when the player touches the ground
HAVOC Rifle
  • Greatly increased horizontal recoil in the initial shots of a burst
  • Decreased magazine size from 32 to 28.
Sentinel
  • Rechamber time 1.75 -> 1.6
  • Energize duration 90 -> 120

QUALITY OF LIFE

  • Teammates can now ping a friendly Caustic Trap.
  • New health bar for when users are in Revenant’s Shadow form.
  • Map rotation times are now even between Kings Canyon and World’s Edge

Play your OWN legend

Why does every random think they know when the best time for me to use my abilities, is this just a crypto thing. If you know how to use my legend better than me, pick him but ffs quit telling me when to use my drone.
“Use your drone get my banner”
“Use your drone scan the beacon”
“Use your drone tell me if any enemies are near”
You mfers are non-stop with this shit. If you wanted to use a drone, pick crypto, its that simple. You should be more concerned about using your own abilities. 75% of random lifelines NEVER tap you when your down and will be standing on top of you using your knock shield for cover. Im not screaming at you to tap me tho, show some decency. Dont hear no one screamin at wattson to fence this area or bangalore to smoke this or caustic trap this mirage bamboozle there. You dont do that so why you bothering crypto mains to use their ability. How bout you worry bout playing your own damn legend.
And to the lifeline that just didnt rez me while the storm was comin because you were mad i didnt scan a beacon earlier while i was trying to rotate into the ring with a minute before it closed, you sir needa get a life cause apex aint for you whodafuk scans a beacon on a closing ring while trying to get inside? WHO?

My Fan-Made Legend for the Apex Games :)

I've been lurking on here for a while. And since Apex Legends is arguably one of my favorite games to play in my spare time, I decided to have a go at creating my own Apex Legend. So here we go~
Let me know what you think in the comments, criticism and compliments welcome.
Legend Name: Tracker
Real Name: Wyatt Maxwell Richter
Birthplace: Utqiagvik, Alaska
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Birthday: November 27th
Star Sign: Sagittarius
Occupation: Frontiersman, Whistleblower on Hammond Robotics
Likes: Tea, Wilderness, Adventuring, Tinkering, Hiking, Fishing, Science, Quiet Places, Reading, His Family
Dislikes: Pollution, Loud Machines, Mushrooms, Hammond Robotics
Role: Versatile Frontiersman
Support
Passive Ability: Survival Instinct- Tracker has a P2020 that he can use while he is downed. He also moves faster while downed.
Tactical Ability: EMP Arrow- Tracker fires off an EMP Arrow from his trusty bow, which inflicts major damage on an opponents shields but minor damage on opponents who have no shield. Cooldown- 25 Seconds
Ultimate Ability: Frontier Supplies- Tracker deploys a massive ammo cache for all of his teammates to use to resupply or use as cover, however opponents may also take ammo from his cache and use it as cover as well.
Heirloom: A Pair of Ice Axes
Appearance: Tracker stands at exactly 6ft and weighs 167 pounds with a medium athletic build due to his living style. He has blue eyes and a peachy skin tone, he has dexterous long fingers and a warm and inviting aura about him. He has a young and sharp face and has no facial hair, though it's clear he shaves. He has auburn hair that looks normal from the front but flows in a naturally majestic way from the back and he fastidious about keeping it clean. He has a Alaskan accent and wears thick Alaskan frontier style clothing he made himself, which is very easily mistaken for the mass produced kind but he's very eager in explaining how he only used 100% natural materials. On his back is a very outdoorsman type backpack, on the side of which he keeps his trusty bow and quiver of arrows. Inside he carries his ammo cache among other things such as food rations and water canteens.
Personality: Tracker is young and carefree, but with wariness of his surroundings. He's optimistic and friendly with the other Legends, but can switch into a state of focus and militaristic strategic planning in a heartbeat when the need arises. Living in the wilderness tempered him to a fun loving and sociable person, but one that always looks before he leaps and always assess the situation before coming up with a plan of action. You want a teammate who would swim through a sea of broken glass for his squad but also crack jokes to ease tension when things look bleak? Tracker is your man.
Backstory: Tracker was the firstborn to a pair of adventurous scientists in Utqiagvik, Alaska. Needless to say their adventurous blood was coursing through him, as young as he could remember he had always been getting into all sorts of shenanigans which showed how much his parents had rubbed off on him. But despite this he was kind, optimistic and always eager to lend a helping hand when necessary. As he grew older Tracker developed his parents love of science as well as adventure and at age 14 he went on his first expedition with them to a bitterly cold glacier valley to help them procure evidence of endangered species living there. And despite the cold and numerous dangers, his enthusiasm wasn't curbed and he in fact found living in remote areas almost as easy as living in a city. The older he grew the more his eagerness to explore grew, until it grew to much and he eventually settled on becoming a frontiersman in the frigid north of Alaska. Armed with technology he crafted such as a bow that enabled him to peacefully stun his food sources and kill them without causing them excess pain, he survived and thrived. Though during a visit to his parents, who had a daughter while he was away, he discovered that Hammond Robotics had plans to build a large robotics laboratory in the remote wilderness he called home. And he soon discovered they didn't really care for environmental damage. Rivers that were once vibrant with fish and life were choked with oil and other pollutants from the facility. The birds stop singing. The forest was chopped down and his mountains were mined. The precious ecosystem that he had so carefully took from and replenished was being ravaged. Tracker didn't like it. Not one bit. Armed with the techniques he had learned from nature he infiltrated the lab and discovered that the majority of the work was illegal and the game wardens and environmental inspectors were being bribed to keep them quiet. Filled with anger Tracker leaked the information online and had the facility swiftly shut down and forced a very mediocre apology out of the C.E.O of Hammond Robotics. Though as he kept digging around he soon found the company was far more corrupt than he had first thought. Determined to prevent the company from causing anymore damage to the precious wilderness that he had grown to respect and love, Tracker joined the Apex Games as a way to preach his message about the evil done about Hammond Robotics as well as protect himself from the many hitmen and women that were naturally sent after him to keep him silent, including Revenant. But Tracker also wants to make a few friends in the process, the wilderness maybe quiet and lovely but Tracker still likes a bit of company every now and again to crack a joke or two with over some freshly brewed tea. He also loves sending letters home of his various comical misadventures with the other Legends in the Apex Games.
Thoughts on other Legends
Pathfinder- Tracker finds Pathfinder to be an odd fellow, but thinks of him as a good friend and often takes him up on his offers of high-fives. The two like hanging out during sessions between games.
Wraith- Tracker finds a Wraith to be a bit of an engima, as such he usually has his guard up a little when near her, but is still kind to her even if she doesn't typically acknowledge it.
Bloodhound- Tracker and Bloodhound respect each other as their lifestyles were similar before joining the games. They enjoy sharing tales from their days in the wilderness.
Bangalore- Tracker usually gets along okay with Bangalore, but her rough military outer shell makes it hard for him to be casually friendly with her.
Gibraltar- Tracker loves cracking jokes with Gibraltar and the two get along just fine.
Lifeline- Tracker finds Lifeline as an invaluable member of the team when he gets paired with her, but even when they aren't the two still get along fine.
Crypto- Tracker keeps his distance from Crypto, not out of distrust but out of respect for his boundaries and he doesn't pry into his life. Crypto in return has a fair bit of respect for Tracker.
Wattson- Tracker actually has a crush on Wattson and usually gets flustered when she's on the team he gets put with. Even outside the Apex Games. Wether she is aware or not of his crush on her, it doesn't affect her friendship with him. She gets along best with Tracker along with Pathfinder.
Caustic- Tracker distrusts Caustic and dislikes being around him, due to his personality and his toxins. As such he typically stays away from him and only speaks shortly with him as possible when it's impossible to avoid him.
Octane- Tracker finds Octane as a crazy adrenaline junkie, but he doesn't mind it in the least. On the contrary, he finds it to be an invaluable piece of his personality. The two have an easy going friendship.
Mirage- Tracker finds Mirage and his ego to be difficult to get along with, but even so Tracker has laughed at his jokes and other hilarious shenanigans he pulls with his decoy's.
Revenant- Naturally Tracker doesn't trust Revenant as far as he could throw him. Revenant often remarks on the pairs close encounter with one another. Not that Tracker enjoys it.
Loba- Tracker is always cautious around Loba. Not appreciating her attempts to find out more about him. Despite this he is sympathetic about the loss of her parents.
Rampart- Tracker is thankful for Rampart as she was the one who helped him amplify his arrows to be used against shields.
Horizon- Tracker enjoys Horizons company and talks with her often about the environment.
Well there we go. I hope you enjoy him as much as I do. And if you have any questions or praise and or criticism. Then let me know in the comments :)
Edit: About the voice lines. Yeah. I've decided they aren't really worth it. But I look forward to the time I get good enough at drawing to upload an image of him. And I hope you'll all enjoy that. But again. This will take a lot of time. I hope you understand.

Overwatch vs Apex Legends. Who would win in a fight?

Im posting this here and on the Apex sub Reddit
This is Not what game is better. Simply if they were to fight who would win. probably match up.
Im putting the Apex Legend. Legend. then next to them the Overwatch character I think would be the best 1v1. Iv never played Overwatch, so all of my info is coming from google.
1, BloodHound: Widowmaker. Sombra. Tracer.
2, Gibraltar: Winston. Roadhog. Symmetra. Reinhardt. Doomfist. Brigitte
3, Lifeline: Mercy. Moira. Zenyatta. Sombra
4, Pathfinder: Hanzo. Sombra
5, Wraith: Reaper. Symmetra. Mei. Genji
6, Bangalore: Hanzo. Genji. Sombra
7, Caustic: Roadhog. Torbjorn.
8, Mirage: Genji. Maccree. Tracer. Doomfist (His Ult would hurt Mirage's Ult.)
9, Octane: Lucio. Junkrat. Wrecking Ball. Genji.
10, Wattson: Sombra. Symmetra. Torbjorn. Pharah
11, Crypto: Sombra.
12, Revenant: Reaper. Symmetra. Ash
13, Loba: Symmetra. Tracer
14, Rampart: Sombra. Torbjorn. Reinhardt. Mei
15, Horizon: Zarya. Orisa. Sombra. Sigma. Wrecking Ball
Sombra: No idea how far her hacking reaches. But Pathfinder is a robot and can be hacked. Everyone else I put her against has technology that can be hacked.
Soldier 76. Is pretty much the Call of duty hero of Overwatch so I put him against everyone. Also, think he losses against everyone but Crypto. but thats just me.
Sigma vs Horizon. is just perfect.
Also, love Wraith vs Reaper... Tracer has a skill set more closely resembling Loba. Tracer "Blinks" but Reaper fades away like Wraith. Tracer vs Wraith. All Tracer would need to do is wait for Wraith to finish phasing then Blink away. Tracer is just to fast for Wraith.
Echo. Copies abilities. So again Everyone.
In Conclusion. I know this is RUFF. again Iv never played overwatch got all my info from the Find a Hero sight. the questions
1, In these 1v1s who would win?
2, All in All Everyone vs Everyone. Team Apex vs Team Overwatch. Who would win

I love the game but I still have some problems with it that I've had since forever that I feel like sharing.

RANT ALERT!
I think Apex is a great game with lots of potential, but I'm not really thrilled about how the developers are managing it currently. Here are some of my personal problems with the game:

Tick rate In case you don't know what it is: google it. Apex Legends Is a multi-million dollar franchise at this point yet for some reason they are STILL using 20hz servers, this is honestly so bad and I really don't feel like there's any reasonable excuse for this. Get better servers Respawn, we literally know you can afford it. The fact that you haven't makes me think you don't really care about quality as much as you do money.

Balance The way the devs handled balance in the early days was pretty commendable. I felt like they listened to the community and wanted to please the players. For example, they made Gibby and Caustic "fortified" pretty fast after the players clearly stated they wanted a buff for them both. But nowadays, they seem to have gotten this strange idea that the only thing that they should adhere to when buffing or nerfing is their "data". This is such a flawed way of thinking for so many reasons, and this is already a long post so I might as well get into it.
The reason wraith still is- and is always gonna be a top performer isn't that she objectively has more power than any other characters. In the early days of the game, she may have been, and that drew a lot of good players in, causing them to play her and get used to her skillset. Even if you removed all of Wraith's abilities a LOT of great players would still play her just because of habit and outshine some of the best characters. The thing that should prove to even the most stubborn of the devs that their thinking is flawed, however, is that after they objectively nerfed Horizon, she got a higher winrate. This shows 2 things: nerfing a legend isn't always the right thing to do, and the data means NOTHING. Horizon IS nerfed, she is objectively a worse character because of the nerf but the data would suggest that she is more powerful than before so Respawn. please. just swallow your pride and stop trusting your "data" so blindly and actually listen to the players, especially the really good ones that probably understand your own game better than yourselves.

Balance 2.0 Is it just me or do they often change things FAR too drastically when buffing/nerfing? Like when they nerfed wraith and just casually added 10 full seconds to her cooldown, or even worse when they nerfed pathfinder and tripled his cooldown, not only making him worse but sucking all the enjoyment out of the character. I LOVED playing path to grapple around everywhere but I guess respawn didn't think it was fun, or that fun doesn't matter in a game. I feel like this is a recurring pattern that shows that some people at respawn don't seem to understand their own game and how some things will impact it.
also as a side-note, why always nerf? why not buff some of the other characters?? Rev's still pretty weak, as is Wattson, and Loba's tactical. They keep complaining that wraith is always the top performer but when Horizon shows up and takes Wraith's place they immediately shower her with nerfs? come on!
and as a side-side-note, The fact that they keep removing cool movement techniques and thereby lowering the skill ceiling is exactly why so many pros have left the game. Shroud literally said he would leave the game if they ever removed b-hop healing and so they removed b-hop healing.

Community feedback
As I mentioned before I really liked the way I felt heard in the early days of Apex, but nowadays I feel like the devs have completely stopped caring just because the game is already a financial success so "who cares?". As an example, you could look at the removal of b-hop healing, or the more recent caustic buff that they kept insisting on Twitter that they needed even when almost every player, particularly the pros, said it was stupid and unnecessary because Caustic was already a really strong character if you played him right.
Respawn, one of the first lessons you need to learn as a developer is that people aren't gonna play your game how you want them to and that is fine. A good developer lets the player shape the game through the way they play it, just because you didn't intend for an ability, or a character to be used in a certain way, doesn't make it wrong, and if the community seems split on whether something should be changed, maybe have polls or something on Twitter and let the majority decide? Bottom line: listen to your players.

Last but not least: Updates
first of all: this game is updated too slowly. There, I said it. They take ages to get to the next season and only ever release one character at a time.
second: when they do release an update it's often riddled with bugs. And not even small, rare, and annoying bugs, but kinda game-breaking bugs that happen consistently. Then it takes them MONTHS to fix those bugs that shouldn't have been there, to begin with. And I know, some of you will defend Respawn by claiming that "every game has buggy updates" or whatever, and that's true, to a certain point.
For an example of a bug so severe, It actually proves to me how little playtesting new patches go through, just look at the pathfinder but that happened not too long ago, that caused his shoulder piece to cover your view after using his tactical. almost every time. And with certain skins, it would literally cover your crosshair. This is a bug that has no business being in the game ever, they must simply never have tested pathfinder during playtesting or something. And then they didn't even fix it immediately but waited to release a hotfix with a few more bugfixes. I'm sorry, but if I worked at respawn and found out about this kind of bug, that would be my top priority to fix ASAP. Or the bug that didn't let Mirage use his tactical when dropping about 50% of the time. that bug was in the game for several seasons. I stopped playing the game a few months ago completely after the audio bugs reached a point where the game was unplayable for me. Just don't release an update if it's not done, it's really that simple!

All of these things frustrate me deeply but at the end of the day they're just my opinions and you guys may think I am completely off here. If you disagree deeply feel free to explain to me why I am wrong.
Anyway, that's it for my rant. Thanks for coming to my Ted-talk.
